Jennifer Lawrence

Looking at the pictures of her today, I've realized that is a very safe, conventional gown overall. She should have made it pop since it's closer to her easy-going style than the majority of the couture gowns she's worn, but something's missing.

Another person could have made that bland thing memorable, but she didn't. Also, I've been trying to imagine it in colour, and wondering if I'd like it more.

Ugh all the potential she has on the red carpet just smashed away with that stupid Dior contract and that hideous haircut. I like her make up at least.

the dress is okay, I agree with wild_roses, I think I'd probably would have liked it better in a different color. As for the makeup, I find the eye makeup a bit too pale and the lips too dark.....

I don't get why anyone at Dior or her stylist signs off on these looks - she looks amazing in other designers and Raf creates incredible clothes, but you'd never know it from this red carpet. And since when has it been ok for make up artists to smear that much silver eyeshadow on someone? She wore less make up in the Catching Fire Capitol scenes... Can't they just let her be herself?

Dior needs to stop sticking her in these gigantic poofy gowns. They saw how well that turned out for her at the Oscars last year.

I don't hate the gown but it's very forgettable and Jennifer Lawrence should wear something that matches her kick **** personality.

She look great. I started to like this dress even though it looks like a wedding cake

^ wedding cake, I totally see it

I think this dress is underwhelming and kind of forgettable... it's not helped that much by hair and makeup either, although I did like her jewelry. I still think she is a beautiful girl, but why did she cut her hair

I miss the Jennifer Lawrence of Oscars 2013 in red Calvin Klein.

Ahh I used to think she had so much potential. The past year or two have been such a letdown, not just the Dior but the general hair and makeup too. Hopefully the SAGs and Oscars will be much better!

Her dress was nice in the September issue of Vogue:

It may just work better for editorials. The middle of the dress looks fuller in print, as though the Vogue team cinched the straps, giving it a more finished look. I think this touch is much-needed, but it also exaggerates the silhouette, which would look strange on Jennifer Lawrence. It was a bad choice for her, at any rate. I actually love Raf Simons for Dior, but she's not the best spokesmodel.

What I dislike the most about the GG look is that JLaw looks twice older than she really is. I would never say she's just 23.
