Jennifer Lawrence

I don't really find this similar to anything she's won before other than the fact that it's strapless. I mean, what do people expect from her? Long sleeves? Halter? None of those would be as flattering as a strapless gown particularly because she has such delicate shoulders and a beautiful bust. This dress is so beautiful and I can't believe some people prefer Charlize's dress to Jennifer's. I personally think Charlize's gown is freaking boring. It's been done so many times by so many different designers.

Congrats Jennifer for the best actress award! Kinda feel "awww" of her because she's too excited and too happy when she want to grab the trophee and ended up felt down from the stair.. Okay the dress is really annoyingggg! And makes her walk kinda hard.. Poor Jennifer!

Still can't believe she won. Sorry, but I thought only Naomi was weaker than her (and that's because her character disappears in the second half). The power of Weinstein.

Congrats to Jennifer! She has a healthy and promising career to look forward to. It's exciting that this is only the start. :flower:

Well congrats to Jennifer! She seems to be Hollywood's new sweetheart, but the good news is that she has real chops! And she can handle a trip pretty well, too, also good news. Good improv is good acting. Didn't love the dress, but it's never been her style that impressed me anyhow.

At 22, Lawrence is the second-youngest woman to win best actress, behind Marlee Matlin, who was 21 when she won for "Children of a Lesser God." Lawrence also is the third-youngest best-actress contender ever, earning her first nomination at age 20 two years ago for her breakout role in "Winter's Bone," the film that took her from virtual unknown to one of Hollywood's most-versatile and sought-after performers.

She looked stunning tonight and I'm so happy for her. She deserved that Oscar, she works hard and always puts out amazing work. Her role in SLP is a true testament to that. Well done Jennifer!

This Dior contract (in terms of RC) keeps getting worse and worse... first the SAG trip now this fall? LOL

I dont mind that she won though I also liked Jessica And Emmanuelle's performances. I think it's "easier" to accomplish a great performance when you're doing a dramatic role but to get a great performance with comedic elements is also quite a task and Jen accomplished that imo.

It'll be interesting to see what she does from here. She's a critical and commercial success and not even 25. Congrats.

The questions she was asked in the press room were so rude. " Do you think you have pecked at 22". Why would you ask that. She gave good answers and if anyone calls her a b*tch for that then they can just bugger off.

She wasn't my choice but I'm happy for her. She looked pretty and she's going to get even better.

I think she looked amazing tonight. Really loved her hair and make-up and the dress is simple, but so chic

there was nothing wring with the SAG dress she told Vogue UK it was two pieces sewn together, and I see this as amazing publicity for them. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior will be on every fashion and celeb blog tomorrow

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. I knew it was gonna happen one day, but I didn't expect it tonight.
She was indeed wonderful in Silver Linings Playbook, but I don't think she should have won for this performance.

Congrats to her on her Oscar! Great dress and hair and makeup were really good too.

It's amazing, I mean I don't think she's slowing down anytime soon. She still has three Hunger Games movies, at least another X-men I think and already another two roles with David O Russell, one opposite Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and the other movie is from the screenwriter of Argo I believe. No peeking for her! :p

I can't believe she won. She was good in that terrible film, but hardly oscar worthy :ninja: She looked pretty at the event though, even if it's not a very exciting look. I hope her Dior contract doesn't go the way of Marion Cotillard's and dampen her style with a whole lot of generic repetitive looks :(
