Jessica Stam

She needs to start walking more shows if she wants to book major campaigns again. Common Stammy! :judge:

that's not necessary. she is an established model so walking or not doesnt make a big difference.

established models like raquel, daria, natalia, guineive, malgosia, coco, etc. dont walk much or at all but still get campaigns.

stam just needs to walk a few shows. i dont think walking lots of show will make a difference in her career at this point.

^ I agree. I honestly don't think she cares either. I think at this point she's done it all and is established enough that she will always be affiliated with fashion so she can continue to live her lifestyle and still have major connections to the industry. She goes to big events, sits front row at major shows, walks the occasional show, etc. She can basically just do whatever she wants. Booking campaigns doesn't seem like a big deal since her name will always be in connection to the industry.

Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't hurt to see her in another big campaign right? I just think she really deserves to get more big campaigns. I was literally in cloud-9 when the Miu Miu resort campaign came out because that was the biggest campaign she has had since Nina Ricci S/S 2010. I just want to see her fronting some major campaigns more, I will be the happiest fan ever if she comes out in the Prada campaign (which she definitely deserves)

meisel needs to give her a vogue italia cover that would do wonder for her career at the moment.

i think she definitely cares about getting campaigns. after all she is a model and needs to pay her bills just like everyone else.

YA, I wish Jessica Stam can appear in major campaigns again.

Raquel Zimmerman, Daria Werbowy, Anja Rubik and even Stella Tennant often appear in big ads even they don't do runways that much anymore.
Jessica Stam is listed 'Industry icon', so as other big names. Why doesn't the same thing happen to her??

One of the reason I think, is that Jessica has a very unique face and vibe that she won't fit in many of the campaigns nowadays, unlike Raquel or Daria, both of their looks are almost suitable for everything from beauty ad to clothes ad, or even cell phone ad.
Jessica only gets editorials and ads when the theme allows her to do her thing.
Besides, the doll face era has already gone, Gemma Ward, Sasha, Lily Donaldson are not that active in modeling industry anymore. Jessica seems to be left without any companies. She can no longer do eds and ads with the type of girls like herself.

Today's time does not belong to her anymore, the fashion industry needs another type of models for their brand. This may be the reason why many today's new models are quirky, boyish, they don't have that grace old models have.
You may notice Jessica has tried to break herself away from the doll face category as she is not just sitting there still, showing her magnificent doll face like the old times in recent eds. You can see there is more movement and attitude in her latest work.

The next reason I think is no matter how you just can't see Raquel, Karen Elson and Daria in the same level as Jessica. They are always in a higher position than Jessica even though they are all industry icons. Therefore designers always consider them for ads first.

That actually makes sense. Girls like Daria, Anja, Raquel, etc. all still get campaigns because they have that blank-canvas look, whereas Stam has something more interesting. It's really amazing that Stam is the only one left of the doll-faces, which is a big feat. I do believe that she will have a major comeback, we'll all just have to wait for it.

She definitely is an Industry Icon though. She's been working for more than a decade and that alone is iconic. How many girls who started with her still work today?

BOSS by Hugo S/S 2013

I recognised Stam in the latest BOSS lookbook. Unless I am mistaken but I don't think so. She poses in 5 pics, like a campaign style editorial.

The Neiman Marcus lookbook looks really lovely! I'm glad that she did another shoot before she cut her hair even shorter :D

Somehow I just mentioned that she reminds me of Amber Valleta in some pictures. Could anyone see that resemblance too?

Judging from the picture in #137 (especially the top layers), I think she's cut her hair again since Fashion Week... I think she's got an actual pixie cut now. Is that about right?

oh, I meant a 3rd time, as in after that, because it looked different in #137 from the way it did in, like, #108.
