good models typically have a standardized look to them, like a prototype or a blank canvas. blank is not what i'd call her but a nice canvas she is. the contour of her face is smooth & proportionate, and reflects nicely under the light

she should be "the one" chosen by the Yamamoto team to debut in Paris, but most likely it will be some 3rd rate agency noob named LanLan.

Just arrived in New York as a last minute addition to One Management's board for the season, Lili J also arrived in our inbox two days ago with two pictures and... quite a stunning video. Seems we have to count with another Lil' One in town, little being a little exaggerated to for her 5'11 height by the way. Now you might ask yourself why is she so special, apart from her delicate features and why the rush to fly her in and feature her here right after. Maybe you'll get your answer by watching that video we were talking about. First Spring, a film by Yang Fudong for... Prada. No, we're not just trying to use some famous name as a sticker on her compcard to stamp her as the next sensation. Watch the video and you'll understand it's actually all about this poise attitude of hers, fragile silhouette and subtle presence. Wish we could show more, guess we'll have an opportunity to do so in a near future.

she is from Qingdao. born in 1987.

in fact a lot of great models come from Shandong area in northern China. what come to mind are Zhang Xue, Sun Feifei, Lili. I notice they share in common pale porcelain skin, height, and unique faces.

one look @ Qingdao fashion week i was amazed at the number of girls who do local shows could be international top models.

her body/face were made for the runway. am huge fan of her work. apparently so is JNBY, one of the best brands in the world, who i credit as the company that catapulted her career.

in China she was given 2nd rate jobs & i get the sense that her agency never believed in her. but i think her look is suited for Milan, London, Paris. NOT Shanghai.

that was a student graduation show. the output is better than any effort made by those tools funded by govt-organized events like china fashion week.

Lili wears the clothes. she looks futuristic, fantastical, minimalist. my archetype beauty.
