Ugh not her again. I don't hate her but enough already..

Julia Nobis is a Queen! She could be in each & every campaign of the season, we would be delighted!!!!!

Gosh, they really put some much effort in this...
so lifeless and boring...

I really hope this is sarcasm. That would be the most depressing thing ever.

This could have been good with a model that's actually talented. Now it's just lifeless.

The second shot is classic Willy Vanderperre....cold, sterile, might as well be a mannequin (wait, it's Julia Nobis!). I prefer the first one because of the silhouette. It seems this is one of those campaigns which reiterates the brand values instead of actually showing what was on the runway. We don't need that from Jil Sander.

What is the point? Boring clothes, boring photo, model looking bored.
They have done minimalism in more successful ways. This is tired and unnecessary.

Willy is so overrated... Gosh. He is just dull and soulless. And this "bored" attitude is so out of fashion... or should be. We've had enough of it already.

Like Julia or not, she defines this decade in modeling.

yes!!!! thank you!! whether you like it or not this isn't julia's first blue chip campaign (clearly) and it definitely won't be her last so don't waste your time trying to degrade her talent as a model because clearly she's doing something right!! she's also a great fit for jil sander!

I feel bored and tired just looking at this campaign. Lifeless, plain and bland. A very bad attempt at minimalism.

hahahahaha thats funny, tell another joke!

A joke? That statement is far from a joke. I'm indifferent to her, she doesn't bother and I'm not crazy about her. I couldn't care less to be honest. But she has done EVERYTHING and has been a staple in fashion these past years, opening and closing every debut show, getting campaigns and covers every season, eds... It's a fact. In a moment when models fade away in three minutes, she's been at the top for quite some time...

^ I agree that she's everywhere but definitely she's NOT definition of a decade. Anyway, I actually like this

But that statement is ludicrous. First of all, one model doesn't define a whole decade. And secondly, even if one model did it would never be this girl. She's not a star. She could leave now and nobody would notice. She's beyond talentless or unremarkable. Yes, she somehow books a lot of campaigns and yes she walks a lot of shows, mostly unnoticed, but she's far from a star.

About this campaign. Willy will always be the best for Jil Sander. Others have tried but failed. Only he can capture the spirit of the brand.

It's only because her look is what some fashion renegades (mostly men) favour when they want the focus on the clothes. Sometimes I wonder whether these men actually regard her as a woman with traits and quirks, or just a blank canvas. Because I get a totally different vibe from Chitose Abe's infatuation with her. I could see Abe's Nobis on the streets, but not Dior's Nobis. Weird.

Anyway, I think when we'll look back at this decade, she will be one of the names which will pop up, but most certainly not the first. She's too niche to be such a headliner, and I find her perpetually vacant and deadpan expression very unimpressive most of the time. Her associations are mostly with a very specific clique, clinical and neo-mimimalist in their repertoire (Raf's Dior, Willy Vanderperre, McDean, Loewe/Anderson, the new Balenciaga etc). Meisel is the only one who really cast her in different scenarios, which humanise her somewhat. Maybe that's why I liked the new Dior campaign that much.

Totally agree with everything you said here. Julia is like the queen of minimalism as she has become a staple for those kind of design houses, and photographers alike. She really does have that "plain Jane" look, but I don't think she is "a bad model" at all. She is far from a favorite of mine, but you can't deny her success as one of the highest caliber of top models TO START in this decade so far. (I just wish she booked more top tier magazine covers.)

With all that said, in my mind it's almost inevitable that she books Jil Sander, because though Julia is plain I still get a regalness from her (though more princess than queen) and it is perfect for the brand. I have no complaints, carry on Julia.

It's so weird I said she defines a decade and her first credit on models.com is actually from January 2010. Just look at her body of work.

She is not a supermodel per se, she's not a household name.
But in terms of high fashion she is a super.

Of course, when we look back to this decade we will first read about Kendall, Gigi, Bella and Cara.

But I think she deserves much more credit because she's not daughter of...
The girl has crazy stamina.

And again, like her or not, she defines a look, a mood that many top designers, photographers, stylists and editors can't get enough of...
