They seem to have very detailed results for every year, so I doubt they're wrong. So much for her being 24 now

Can you enter both contests at the same time? Not that I care about her age, but I'm not convinced that either of those contests were way back in 2000. That would mean that it took her 7 years to get signed by a big agency (Elite). Surely someone would've snatched her up before then, right? I can't find any other articles about Joan's EML experience, so their date of the her entering is suspect to me. I'll believe it when I see more articles confirming the date.

She definitely entered that competition in 2000. I'm pretty sure Ford allows very young models to the finales, I think Adriana Lima was 13 when she entered it, too.
No idea if Joan really ever tried out for the Elite Model Look, as well?

She definitely entered that competition in 2000. I'm pretty sure Ford allows very young models to the finales, I think Adriana Lima was 13 when she entered it, too.

So if that was from 2000, & you're allowed to enter at 13, I would assume that Joan was 13 too. She looks very young in that picture. This would make her 26 today, which I could believe.

And yes, she did enter the Elite Model Look. IDK what year, but she's mentioned in several interviews.

I don't even know why they hired Liu and Joan in the first place if all they are going to do is make them Constance's human background. I wish she would get more ads.

don't they sometimes do three different commercials where they zoom in on a different model each or is that another brand? hmm but I agree, in basically all of their ads its all about constance :/ joan deserves more spotlight!

IKR. Joan hasn't had a single OG ad for Estee Lauder, & she's the most famous girl they have currently on their roster. I'm sure the EL team knows what they're doing, but I think it's ridiculous to have her in the background all the time.

Yeah, that seems reasonable, that she was about 13 or 14 at the time. I never really believed she was the age she stated. With her having been in a Ricky Martin video in 2006 and having already graduated from college before her modeling career took off, she would have had to be a wunderkind to be so involved with the show business and attend college all at such a young age. I find it irritating that models are still forced by their agencies to lie about their age. There's this weird discrepancy between people only looking at models as clothes hangers and the models having a certain anonymity and at the same time those girls are expected to represent a character that they're not by telling made-up stories about how they were discovered and such. It's so awkward knowing they have to lie and will be found out sooner or later anyway. I don't really care about her age, I just care that people still do this and think the fans won't eventually find out, it's annoying.
