And I never said that, either. She still has a lot left in her. It's just not all coming at 100 mph like before. If the Gucci rumor is true, & if she has covers for Vogue Turkey & Vogue Japan coming up like I'm hoping, then we're in for a decent season. She'll be set if she renews her contract with EL. She has Riccardo on her side always, & she's still an American Vogue favorite. It's not like I'm dressed up & ready for her career funeral. I mean c'mon people. -_- I never said her career was over.

Personally, I think it's very important to speak out about our frustration. Acknowledging the fact that racism still affects the modelling industry does not mean becoming complacent and settling because "that's just how it is". We need to keep pushing because that's the only way in which true, lasting change will occur. When Lara was #1 she was everywhere and she still is. Joan deserves the same amount of exposure and acknowledgement.
 
I think the person who needs to be called out most is Alexandra Shulman at Vogue UK. When was the last time a model of color appeared on the cover of the magazine? Jourdan got ONE cover and had to share it with two other models. Her other cover was supplement or miss Vogue. Nyasha - supplement, Malaika - Supplement! It's ridiculous that not even Naomi has covered her own country's Vogue in such a long time. This is just like a "back of the bus" situation where models of color will only get to be on the supplement or Miss Vogue covers but never the main news stand cover. Alexandra is despicable! :rolleyes:

^Great point!!! Not even the legendary Naomi Campbell is getting any Covers from British Vogue!!!

Alexandra Shulman at Vogue UK has a serious problem!!! Supplement covers are a slap on the face for these models!! By her actions all these years she's actually saying models of colour are not good enough to be on the Main Cover of Vogue Uk!!!
...Meanwhile Kate Moss Gets a million Covers and now Cara Delevingne!!!

Even Kate Upton already has 2 British Vogue Covers!!!!!
Shamefull!!! I'm disgusted!!

And Joan the number #1 model in the world can't even get one!!!!

Alexandra Shulman needs to be put on major BLAST!!! It's 2014, she needs to wake up and get a clue!!

Joan just tweeted a pic of her in her "new Gucci frames." She could've easily bought them herself or gotten them from a set, but I'm hoping it was free swag from the Gucci campaign shoot. All of Anja's twit pics & now this makes everything sound more & more promising. Fingers crossed! :doh: I'm beginning to think the Natasha/Gucci article that WWD reported is not for mainline. I remember them reporting something about Florence Welch for Gucci a while back, & she never got the campaign.

Very beautiful as always :wub: Loved the Prabal dress and the makeup, but the hair...

It was ok, don't get me wrong, but... It just didn't look natural. I know Joan has naturally long hair, so I don't understand why they added soo many pieces/extensions, or whatever you call it.

At certain angles the hair looked very wiggy, like Naomi Campbell's wigs. No offense to Naomi, she's still the Queen.

I remember Luigi Murenu did such an amazing and better job at Pucci styling Bangs/Fringes a few seasons ago. Very natural.

I would love Joan to get Adriana Lima's hair dresser!!! He does magic. Or some Domincan hair dressers who know how to work with Joan's hair texture.

I know there's a hair stylist name Jennifer that works with Joan at times and she knows how to make Joan's hair look nice every time. :heart:

IMO only of course :flower:

She looks stunning! The only thing I dislike is the hair. The extensions cheapen her making her look more pop star and less #1 model in the world. That dress looks amazing on her, though!

I really hope so! If Klein takes a liking to her then I could seriously see her getting a Balenciaga or Wang campaign someday.
