Brought up in Epsom, Surrey, Joanna Schlenzka is the Senior Fashion Editor at Dazed & Confused. After studying English Literature at Edinburgh University, Joanna started at Dazed in October 2003 as a fashion writer and now styles as well as writing many of the main fashion features. Based in Vauxhall, South London, Joanna also frequently contributes to Another Magazine, Ten, Another Man, Commons & Sense, Lula magazine, Bon, and Nylon.
i can't find any recent information. she's not the Senior Fashion Editor at Dazed anymore. i'm not sure what year Karen Langley took over that position.

 thanks unipine!.
a change is gonna come is in my opinion, one of the highlights in her work .. probably because it's a lot more subtle and less sexual and aggresive than what she usually does, you can perceive more sensibility and a high appreciation of shapes and materials by how she placed and folded them so strategically for the shot. the result is beautiful.. and very inspiring for me.
I also like her work for Lula though you can see she struggles trying to tone down her own style to fit Lula's aesthetic..
it's probably Mixte and Dazed where she gets the most freedom, doesn't it?, I can tell she's very influenced by the 80s.. which I'm not, so it makes it difficult for me to find her work personally appealing although in her own game, I give her credit as an outstanding player, she has a stunning vision for that era and what it can represent now.

Thanks for making this thread :crush:

I am definitely a fan. I love the overall aesthetic she goes for. I agree with Mullet about her work looking less contrived when she's got more freedom.

A change is going to come and Kooky are both great. All the texture in the former is really what brings those pictures to life. :crush:

^ :buzz:
breathtaking editorial!. :crush:
my new favorite work by Joanna without a doubt.. the ethnic references, the colours.. it's all so varied but making perfect harmony and pulling a unique theme together.. looks like she's taken that inspiring eurotrip already..

interesting work...i'm wondering what her 'signature style' is...if any..
i guess i'm struggling to find something coherent in her work..
it is all so varied...which i suppose is a sign of flexibility...

it can be so delicate and then so aggressive..
so pared down and then so fussy..

i think 'a change is gonna come' is fantastic..

i also love the first editorial posted..'on the prairie'...
totally different but so beautifully subtle + gentle..
