Joel Kinnaman Lastest to Join Terrence Malick's 'Knight Of Cups'
At this point it feels like we should be reporting on who
isn’t joining the ensemble of
Terrence Malick‘s
Knight of Cups, but nonetheless another actor has decided to join in on the fun. While their films squared off last month with
Easy Money and
The Dark Knight Rises,
Joel Kinnaman will now join
Christian Bale in the upcoming feature. The
RoboCop remake lead confirmed his involvement in an interview with the Swedish outlet
Svd, where he will play “a rich playboy” alongside’s Bale’s “depressed writer” character. Nothing else is known and suprisingly no set pictures of
The Killing actor have surfaced, the major way we’ve learned much of the cast have joined; and those members include, but are certainly not limited to
Cate Blanchett, Wes Bentley, Freida Pinto, Isabel Lucas, Imogen Poots,
Teresa Palmer, Joe Manganiello and
Ryan O’Neal.
We’ve also got confirmation of
Antonio Banderas‘ involvement in the film, after some
early rumors, as extra
Brett Anderson shared he has scenes with the star, as well as Bale. He also mentioned a
June 2013 release date for the film, which is of course far from confirmed considering the lack of distribution and Malick’s usual work routine. Plus, actors seem to be the last to know when their film will actually hit screens.
In fact, his next film
To the Wonder, which is set to premiere in just a few weeks at Venice also has yet to get acquired, so hopefully we’ll get word on that, as well as more info on this one soon. In the meantime, this
Knight of Cups shoot has pretty much resulted in a free-for-all when it comes to reveals of Malick, so see some photos below thanks to
One Big Soul, also featuring other cast members such as Bale, Pinto and Lucas.
