Evan Richardson (his full name credited in magazines as John Evan Richardson) was one of the first make-up artists to do make-up for American fashion magazines. He spent his make-up career working with some of the world's greatest fashion photographers like Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, and Francesco Scavullo.
His work regularly appeared in and on the cover of fashion and women's magazines worldwide like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, French & Italian Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Ladies Home Journal, and Redbook to name a few.
In his career that spanned nearly 30 years he made up over 130 celebrities from the film and theater worlds, dancers, pop and opera singers, TV personalities, politicians, heads of industries, writers, artists, and supermodels.
In alphabetical order his celebrity list includes: Julie Andrews, Lucille Ball, Tallulah Bankhead, Drew Barrymore, Mikhail Baryshnikov, David Bowie, Johnny Carson, Glenn Close, Susan Lucci, Shirley MacLaine, Madonna, Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, Paul Newman, Yoko Ono, Luciano Pavarotti, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Reeve, Susan Sarandon, Diane Sawyer, Frank Sinatra, Sting, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Walters, Joanne Woodward, and many more.
He also designed make-up for many Broadway shows like No, No, Nanette, Coco, Good News, and Dr. Jazz.

Richardson received a BFA degree at University of Kentucky with further studies at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. His writing training in NYC has been at Marymount Manhattan College, New School University, and the New Dramatists, with playwright studies with playwright/teacher, Jeffrey Sweet.
His musical, GUYS has had 5 staged readings presented in NYC by the National Music Theater Network and the Genesis Guild.
Richardson recently taught for two years the art of beauty make-up in the Fashion Department at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY.
