John Galliano F/W 2016.17: Edie Campbell by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

Beautiful dress and great photo but Edie looks very drained. I know it's what she is known for but even if JG is not at Galliano, that's not the image i have of the brand.
Maybe it represents what the brand is 2016: Drained!

She just looks like she has really bad hay fever. Dislike.

I don't get her appeal
She always looks the same and bland but people booking her over and over again .....

Neck down it's a great photo. That dress looks really pretty. Then there's Edie...

I think that her blandness works well with the pink filter, I like it.

I like it too, in some way it works really well.

I also love the image! Reminds me of fashion shots around the millenium era. But my God, get rid of that awful art direction. It looks like an invite, is this intentional?

The dress looks great. Edie doesn't.
Hope the rest of the campaign is better.

So bad. And I can admit that I'm biased because I already don't particualarly care for Edie anyway, nepotism aside, but she is not suited for this brand at all, regardless of whether or not Galliano is in charge. The picture itslef just isn't working for me. I'll echo the "drained" statements mentioned before.

I know he was never a huge advertiser but I find these new ads pretentious and quite frankly, boring and ineffective. His old ads were bold and really represent his brand they way it should have been. The John Galliano brand is now the equivalent of an old neutered dog.

R.I.P.
