Galliano being galliano.. never fails to show a dramatic presentation.
People tend to feel that he's overdoing it everytime, but I've always think that he exaggerates with taste. Maybe not so much with the prints and logo tees, but as a collection, they're alway rich and spontaneous.
Looking over the bronzers, the make-up, and the usual exotic prints, the styling is also pretty much close to my personal style. So this is extra special and inspiring to me. Love Galliano as always!
Ok now that I see the whole collection I am seeing a transition from Nights in Arabia to Romeo gone crazy to the Flying Dutchman to the Jungle Book Crazy Edition to Sweeny Todd.
I'm trying to find out who the male models are though
And of course, John's finale entrance Work!
Its beautiful He's given so much personality to the whole presentation. The Golden Statues of history.
The problem with the collection though is that without the show theyre useless, they become just plain old weird once theyre on the racks, which is not very good. The models are the only thing keeping this collection up.
AMAZING! With the golden body paint it makes me think of greek gods.
Shaking and crying, omg, I LOVE THE BELTS!!!! and the head pieces, so beautiful!
How I love Galliano's dramatic runway .I see Lawrence of Arabia vibe here.
The video must be very exciting to see
Lawrence d'Arabia was the first thought came to my mind too! xD
so theatrical and interesting, a lot of inspirations
can't wait to watch it on video!
I actually completely disagree. I've found that his mens clothes (and by clothes I don't mean the printed tees and briefs he always insists on showing) can be pretty gorgeous in person, there are wonderful little details that are completely lost in his anarchic styling and they're not completely ridiculous as clothing, either. It's unfortunate that in his mens shows the clothes tend to be drowned by the theatrics.
This time around though, like last season, the clothes are showing through the styling, which is nice to see. That whole last section of tailoring is absolutely gorgeous.
It's so nice of him
I find the body air-brushing totally disgusting. The styling could have been cleaned up a little.
I also hate every single T-shirt shown here. Why not create a fantastic collection by taking one or two inspiration and adding his genius to all the garments separately? Like he does with his Dior shows. (or used to at least)
This looks too much like a gay-pirate's fantasy... AGAIN and AGAIN. Time to do something different. Again,, some stunning pieces, but the momentum and my patience to see something new are both gone.
Great collection, well done!
I agree, Spike. His menswear pieces are actually incredibly beautiful. He's really one of the very few menswear designers who seems to put as much care and detail into his men's shows as he does his women's. I remember seeing a pair of Galliano pants at Century 21 in New York (I know...so glamorous) and I was so entranced by them...they were gorgeously distressed and and they were covered with Indian embroidery. They were magnificent.
Anyway, as far as the collection is concerned, I think it is fantastic. It's SO great. Of course, I'm disregarding the underwear looks (sure, the boys are eye candy, but GOD, Galliano...can you produce a single menswear collection without them?). There are some stunning coats and jacket, as usual.
And I find it incredibly bizarre that practically every single men's collection so far has been inspired in part or in whole by North Africa and the Middle East. It's such a fascinating phenomena.
I love how Galliano got five pictures just of himself on menstyle.it.
I adore the jackets with the sparse studs and the attachments, and the other pieces like that.
Others are haphazard and I can't be bothered to visually pull them apart.
I like it. It's typical Galliano with the creativity and it never gets old to see his new ideas. One of the few ones that I want to see in video.
And I really want to see Galliano do his walk...
this is crazy lol , his mind is on another plane lol but its really amazing what he comes up with its like a mix of napoleon goes to arabia or india , goth , greek gods , jack the ripper , soo many influences.
