John Galliano S/S 08 Paris

last winter + this collection = GALLIANO STILL ROCKS!!

after a terrible dior collection this is just what we all needed, A GALLIANO SHOW!

it's so full of life, so beautifully cut, the colors are amazing, the make up is of course gorgeous, so is the hair, the venue couldnt be better... and what is even more amazing, is that every piece translates so beautifully to the streets. I can see 20y.old girls wearing some of the shorter dresses, as much as i can see old ladies wearing the tailleurs, and most dressy ones.

i honestly dont understand why dior cant be like this. i dont mean i want all the set and posing and stuff (because that's what after all makes it be galliano)... but these clothes look absolutly classy to me, very appealing and 0%-logo!! wouldnt that fit perfectly the "new dior" mr. toledano was talking about a week ago?

BEYOND GORGEOUS!

loves it!!!
its so fun and over the top!!!!!
i love agyness's outfit the most! esp. the dress. i want that dress!!!
the expressions of the models are so cute...
this is my fave collection so far...!

it's some good olldd John...
That's good styling... even though, imo, the collection is what we already saw from john it's still very very good and exciting...
and i wonder if the hapiness of the girls and the set is not a big part of this...
anyway, de Betak is soooo good!!! Don't lost him John he's sooo good for the scenography, I even want to intern with him just for Galliano's shows!

I love it , it's like grey gardens meets brassai photographs.

That's what I expected of Galliano - many colours, great hair, make up and scenography, acting models... Next great show!

Yeah, Sarah Mower does that at least once per season, she takes a review for the collection and b*tches about the location instead. It's really annoying actually.

It is....stop bitching and take the subway, damnit...it's a lot easier in Paris than taking the car and not that annoying at all.

What's also very good about this collection, especially when compared to Dior is that you see that he's been trying to apply a correct image to each brand. A correct image for Dior, would be - historically - a classy, French house for chic women. For Galliano, it's crazy exuberance, a lot of fun and clothes for young and old. After last season, you can tell he's been finding these identities for both brands back, which is great. He totally mixed the two up since, say, F/W 01.02 Dior but started to put the class back in Dior at S/S 07 I'd say and the fun back in Galliano at F/W 07.08. I think it's fab and it legitimizes a collection like Dior S/S 08 I think.

MMM so much joy and fun, i love the orange colors and the make up,
and just everything.
i  john galliano.

the expressions on the models faces are priceless! what a fun collection! gorgeous fabrics!

"Annoying" is an understatement. Mower just sounds snobby and stuck up in her review, and she only mentioned clothes, which is generally the most important thing in a fashion show, in a small paragraph at the end. -_-

^^She complained about McQueen's show location last season, too. Stop whining. Most of us would kill to have seen this show and she's complaining because she had to deal with traffic and people? Please...

this is such a breathe of fresh air from the rest of fashion week. i like the set the most.

i love this! i have nothing to add to everyone else's comments (that it's not directional but it's so light and fun and fantastical) but just to say how excited i am by fashion because of shows like this!! for me, galliano and mcqueen are just a cut above every other designer. <3

Fan-fukcin'-tastic! :o

I am now convinced that Galliano used some voo-doo curse to steal all of Marc Jacobs talent so that, along with his own, he would have superhuman design power.

It is seriously the only real explination. :innocent:
