wow, i love !!
^ I second that sentiment.
omg! Saunders can do no wrong with colours!!
Love this, perfect for summer. Especially the first two looks, he really is a genius with colour and prints!
I'm not too used to the wishy-washyness of the colours from Jonathan . . and looks 3 + 4 on post 2 aren't nice.
The other clothes are fab. I love Saunders.
OH JESUS THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! There is so much color but none of it is washing the women away. I wish I could feel the fabrics..........
i love the nonchalance of this resort collection. just imagine -- with a color sense like this -- what magic he might work at a house like emanuel ungaro.
I agree. I love all the looks with bold colours but I'm not so into the pale shades. Maybe it will grow on me??
no.. no no.. Basso & Brooke do this sort of thing to perfection.. Sanders should find his own niche...
one of the better resort collections I would say
I really like this a lot. I also like to pretend Jonathan Saunders and Christopher Kane are fighting for my attention. I would have to say Chris won this one, but this is for sure my second fave resort.
Also kudos to J.S. for creating something that Hanne Gaby Odiele's head doesn't overpower.
very cute prints. Saunders is a color genius
I'm afraid I still don't get why people go ga-ga over his colors. They're bright, and he's clearly not afraid of using them, but to me slapping a bunch of super bright primary colors on fabric doesn't mean he has an innate gift for color. There's no subtlety to it, no unexpected "who would've thought those colors would have looked good together".
he's divine with color. there are few designers who combine colors like he does. in a fall/winter season dominated by the return of black-on-black, he gave us dresses combining the most unlikely of shades....
and, of course, spring was an orgy of color.
^ See I don't find that coloring unlikely at all. Bright yellow with red and black, or red, blue, yellow and green don't strike me as particularly interesting or unusual. Maybe I've just seen too many color wheels in my life.
Still, it's great that he uses color so comfortably, but I don't think his use of them is at all unexpected.
we'll have to agree to disagree...i can name very few designers doing more exciting things with color these days.
this last one you posted is quite good ^
i love this sudden bit of red bleeding through all the cold colours
i think what spike is getting at is that the colours are very pure,
it is like taking paint straight from the tube..
nothing is done to it, there is no story to the colour combos, no thought in how to mix them, it is feeling just take whatever comes out of the tube and put it all on the garment..
but technique wise, i do think a few of the looks from this resort collection are not bad, i like these sort of colour patches, some are blurred , some lighter than others/more transparent..
i like the contrast of the colorful textures with black. very pretty!
