Jonathan Simkhai recently ventured to Como, Italy, to develop custom fabrics, which served as the heart of his inspiration for resort. “I like that it feels deconstructed but also polished in a way,” he said of his mostly black-and-white collection, which featured a series of looks in cotton jacquard that had been intentionally shredded and pulled. “It’s feminine and flirty but then also edgy and tough.”
A tribal spirit reverberated through a few offerings done in a graphic navy blue pattern, such as flirty dresses and cropped top and skirt sets featuring sheer insets, lace-up necklines and cut-outs — silhouettes that are sure to please his loyal customers, who want to be sexy with an edge.
