Thimister replaces Patrick Cox After two seasons with Charles Jourdan, Patrick Cox decided to leave the house to devote itself to his private collection. C’est therefore Josephus Melchior Thimister that will replace it from the season been 2006. Formed to the school d’Anvers, the creator did its beginnings with Karl Lagerfeld in so qu’assistant on the masculine collection, then rejoined John Patou for the preparation of the High Sewing, after a passage with Balenciaga. Known for its nordic, poetic ones, lightly surrealist and controversial creations, Josephus Melchior Thimister will bring without any doubts a novelty breath to Charles Jourdan. (February 14 2005)

Sorry for the odd translation...

Good news?? Seems weird Josephus doing a footwear collection since he's more known for making clothes. I guess we'll see as I don't know what he's really capable of doing in that respect. And he needs the job too because his label suffered financially so he had to stop for a while.

well...i'm just glad he's re-surfaced...i wish him well...i'm a big fan...some of my prized posessions are thimister...

the translation is bizarre...LOL...from french?...
thanks for the news scott...

I was a big fan too.

Yeah,it was Vogue FR. Those translators are never accurate and my French is not so good that I could comprehend the majority of it. But you get the jist :D

You're welcome...

I hope he makes clothes again...he's one of my favourites. A great talent.

^i've been wondering about him myself. did the charles jourdan stint even last long?

Awesome! I love Josephus! He did great work at Balenciaga. I hope he really manages to do well this time round.

His first collection was spring 2006 and his last fall 07/08. The shoes designed by him were quite amazing and a lot better than the ones by Cox, but for some reason they/or the brand didn't reach customers and coverage in big magazines and it went to bankruptcy.

Now they have named Alexandra Neel as the new creative director and she'll try to bring the house back.

Actually speaking of Josephus Thimister, does anyone have any pictures of his work at Balenciaga?? I can't seem to find anything.

^well the only thing i can think of is firstview but as you probably know you have to pay.

thanks for that info,rip_ian_curtis :flower:
