We will again acquaint you with the last rating of fashionable brands
and designers of the authoritative French professional publication
Journal du Texttile. In this season the places in tens of best of the
good were distributed as follows:

wow, JPG still on the top (as expected, much more with his latest collection) but the surprise comes from Ann D. on the fourth place, that's totally unexpected.

imho, Dries should be higher...

anyway, later i'll try to post the american buyers reaction to the Paris collections, Dries and Lanvin came first in their list

hanks for bringing this in ngth :flower:

The ones that stick out for me:-

1. Dolce & Gabbana at 5?
2. Marc Jacobs!!!! more creative than comme, junya, V&R, balenciaga?!?!?!?
3. JPG still top (although this isn't as strange as either of the above).

You are welcome, Lena:-)

As I remember the Journal always loves JPG and Yamamoto:-)

This list is made by votes from boutiques owners, so I think it might be more about commercial than creative values.

exactly, the list is based on what the boutique owners in France ordered for next season, its purely commercial and regional, plus its not a matter of what JdT likes or not. What is even more interesting is to see where those designers were placed last season and the seasons before.

one thing for sure, JPG is always the king in French retail

I thought it was a survey of boutique owners of what they thought, specifically, was the most creative designer, not just what they ordered. Although of course there's likely to be a big overlap, "creativity" is supposed to be the criterion.

thanks ngth...

so you think this is fall?...
is it marc jacobs for LV or his own label...?

and where's Gucci?...
if this is fall...then it's tom ford's last collection which is selling like hotcakes...

i think it must be spring 05...no?... :ermm:
hmmm....

I'd want to know more about what the rating entails, but I'm happy for Ann, that's for sure. It's unexpected, indeed. Maybe it's because of her killer F/W 04-05 season?

Mark is for his own line plus this is for ss05 : )

good explanation faust, i should had guessed, seems Ann D. goes very well for fw04.05
