I am the most rabid Jude fan since Ripley, but I think that the hats have a lot to do with the fact that he is balding quite fast.
I´ll still love him even if he was bald as a knee, but if you look at pictures without a hat or beanie you´ll see his hairline receding. He´s a GREAT actor and his appeal and talent goes well further his looks.

I read somewhere (Daily Mail, I think ) that he's covering his head because of a hideous hairdo for a movie. Who knows. I've been a fan for a good while too and while his hairline is declining, I don't think it's going that fast but again who knows. He still looks good IMO.

the father of four refused to remove his woolly hat claiming he has 'the most heinous hair cut' which he has to keep for his latest film role.
