Junya Watanabe Man S/s 05

If you like Raf and Ann and so on though, it is not really your aesthetic (and I really don't meant that in a patronising way at all).

I'd never wear a wooly jumper and I'd never wear a hat...

Maybe next month you will.....I'm not sure anyone would really wear the hats (although they did have them in the store for sale!). The jumpers are great though, what are you on about?!!!

Any man/boy under twenty in a wooly jumper is clearly a case for the Youth Branch of the Tory Party...

You are welcome, cerfas:-)

I don't think this looks or is crap:-) The quality is out of question for Junya. You all know that when it comes to Junya, CdG, Raf, Jil... you have to look at the fabrics, and even wear the clothes to like them.

The idea is nice. And now it appears that it goes thru to the winter collections. Sport and tailoring. Sport in flower prints. It's a fresh take on menswear, imo. Not artsy, wierd nor avant gard. Just good clothes.

Junya is always "seen" with using bright colours. I think he does it very well in this collection. One can't just say that men should not wear bright colours because it looks gay. It's XXI century and men wear even female perfumes:-P

Prince, everything could have homosexual undertones this day:-)))

In theory I like CDG, Rick Owens, Raf Simons and Ann Demm. However, I generally dislike anything with references to youth culture or anything which actually looks crap, which is where I have a problem.

I change what I like about every month - not so long ago I thought Armani was the bee's knees but know I realise that was a terrible error of judgement.

Haha, EXACTLY the same here.

Not so long ago I thought Armani was great.
Not so long ago I thought Gucci was great.
Not so long ago *gulp* Versace was IT.

Now I despise Gucci and Armani, and really, really detest Versace. :yuk: lol

Call me brainwashed by the big labels or whatever, but I'd take a $3000 Armani made-to-measure suit over a lot of labels people seem to like on here anyday... :innocent:

Johnny, I don't think it was a bad thing to ressurect the thread. People obviously wanted to see it, but it ended up that not everyone liked it. I think that's an OK thing.
& Interesting thoughts, nqth

well, your welcome to stock those rags if you wish, but I certainly won't be...tut tut...

What's wrong with Armani ?

His menswear is still relevant - I always pay attention to the EMPORIO and BLACK LABEL collections as beacons of reserved good ITALIAN good taste .

His womenswear is a different matter . I was intrigued as to why nobody posted a thread here on the women's A/W 05/06 Black Label collection . It's probably a sign of his increasing irrelevance in this aspect of his work . Who wears Black Label apart from the appalling Ann Robinson ?

Armani sells MORE rtw than any other designer in the WORLD !!!

This is off-topic , I know .

Maybe we should start a new thread on this ?

NOT myself , after this morning's debacle when the server was acting up .!!!

QUINTRUPLE posting of the Guardian Paris collections thread .

I can only apologise .

That's why I dislike Armani so much! It's extremely, extremely commercial. Also, it's boring and, imo, it's only for people with lots of money and no taste who just want to look expensive. The only thing that keeps most rappers off Armani is that it's not obnoxiously flashy and there is no BLING BLING!

No thankyou, I'd take Ann D, Rick Owens, Spastor, Cloak, or anything from any designer who actually has originality and talent.

Now, back on topic...

Junya quality is good, we all know that, but in my eye, it lacks a spark. If I see something and I know I like it, I know I like it because of something I feel towards it. I see this, and I feel nothing. Yes, there are a few pieces that I like, but not much. I definately prefer the A/W collection.

In my eyes it's the fact that it is no longer fashion, but luxury goods. :(

Exactly . :flower:

Sometimes you want to spoil yourself with a little ' safe ' luxury ( like my reversible HERMES belt ) .

Thanks for yor patience , Faust and Arturo , I'll endeavour to remain ON topic .

It's totally O.K. Kit, I like it when ppl express their opinions and show others different views on different topics. I also quite like it when we go on and off topic, although, mind you, moderators don't seem too happy about that. :ninja::innocent::lol:

:flower: Thank YOU
