Junya Watanabe Man S/s 05

Exactly . :flower:

Sometimes you want to spoil yourself with a little ' safe ' luxury ( like my reversible HERMES belt ) .

Thanks for yor patience , Faust and Arturo , I'll endeavour to remain ON topic .

:flower: As long as we agree on the terms  .

Yes, let's get back on topic.

I liked several things from this collection. Like Johnny said, this has to be taken apart. Not many people are going to put on the entire checkered outfit and a hat to boot. I liked several pieces I've seen so far, and I think the jacket/bag is fantastic. I liked the multi pocket pants too, but they are $1k! . NYC stores are only getting first deliveries, so my judgement is far from complete yet, but I'll be watching. And yes, there is no question about the quality of the items - always superb.

Well said, I feel the same way. I agree that it's not fashion, it's just clothes like softgrey would say, but sometimes I just want simple, well made clothes that allow me to stand a bit taller too, ya know?

I understand :flower: Although, can't you do the same with, say, Ann D or DH?

I agree with Faust, if you take it apart, there are very nice pieces, as I look over it.

Not trying to argue with anyone...just my feelings on the subject...

My "safe luxury" pieces are pretty meaningless to me, so they do not make me stand taller or feel anything. I need my clothes to make me feel something; it's what I like about fashion. Ann Dem is what makes me stand taller, as Arturo suggested above, and really makes me feel like myself. Not that I don't normally feel like myself. I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say...

I do, and I saw a pic of you in the "What are you wearing today?" thread completely in Ann Demeulemeester...suits you, extremely well, loved the outfit.

Alex, I know what you mean about feeling something.
The way I dress myself has so much to do with outwardly conveying a certain feeling, or attitude, that's what is so fun and engaging about it. And it's a cliche to say this, but clothes really can change the way you feel about yourself...a talismanic power. Playing with this can be safe & fun.

220 UK pounds for the tie dye, 290 for the taffeta. Tough prices:-)

yeah pretty tough...its still hard for me to comprehend how expensive designer stuff it..:innocent:

I quite liek the tie dye shirt, the taffeta one is really nothing special.

I 3rd that! ^

Alex, I was wondering..you wear Ann D and other high-end labels similar to Ann D, etc.., and you live in Kansas. How do your classmates/co-workers react to your style of dress. Do they think you're un-stylish (I wouldn't be surprised if the Abercrombie crowd d Ann D, etc, if they saw it..), or do they like your style, etc.? I know Kansas doesn't have all these high-end labels like where I live and I doubt the people are that different.

Now, I don't really care what they think if I started dressing according to my tastes, I'd actually be happy if people d it.:innocent:, but I'm really just curious. :D :flower:

(A bit off topic, sorry, but sort of in the context of what Cerfas was saying :flower:)

It's actually Missouri, but close enough. I know it's confusing when the city is called Kansas City. There is quite a difference, though. But enough nitpicking...

There are high-end labels in KC, just not any that I really like. It's the more commercial stuff. Anyhow, everyone seems to love the way I dress. They think it's really stylish, even if all they can comprehend is shopping at Nordstrom's...

Lol, sorry. Well, I know there are probably high end labels like D&G, etc..but I know neither of us like them. I meant more like..high, high-end labels :D. Anyway, it's good to know ppl like your style there. Even though I like to go against the common flow, I don't want to wear something everyone finds horrible. I haven't really started dressing "my style" yet, I just dress using the common stuff at the mall, Nordstrom, etc...but when I get a job I'll start..anyway, just surveying you out of curiosity to see how ppl would react. Thx. :flower:

I saw in the iD mag few pages about the latest work from Junya+Levis. Now he made Levis does the "jean process" with his fabrics, recut loose Levis clothes to fitted and he used "morning jkt"'s super light wool for jeans. "Denim for gentlemen" - as he said:-)

The Levis now has a stall in Dover Street with vintages, too.

If anybody has pictures, or saw them please, post:-)
Thx.

WHAAAAAAT?!!?!?! :woot:

i *GOTTA* get my hands on a pair of these...one of my regrets is that i missed the Junya X Levi's collaborations as well as the collaborations that were released for the Happy Army Store. The Junya Watanabe for Nike all black vandals are my dream sneakers.

oh yeah I really wanna check out the Dover Street vintage Levi's stall...i'm always down to cop a good pair of Levi's. Are they actual vintage Levi's or is it the Levi's Vintage Clothing label?

I don't think they are actually vintage, they looked pretty new to me, it was just the styling, I was taking pictures of F systems by hedi slimane awhile ago and the guy that worked there told me to stop, because the management get nervous about pictures, I have no idea why

Who knows anything about the supposed new Watanabe/Levi colabo? I must know. What issue of ID was this mentioned in. It is urgent that I find out!
