Unfortunate he must be a nightmare to interact with when he doesn’t get his way, let alone work with. He is talented as a designer. His design sensibilities are not my preference in any way, but there’s no denying how much influence he’s had in the athlete/leisurewear demographic, and he still stands out above the rest.
People laugh at how unreasonable and clueless his demands were for the merchandising of his Gap collab at stores. But he’s approaching the retail experience as more than just shopping: It’s actually interesting that he wanted customers to dig through giant piles of black bags for their purchases LOL The man has always had a worldbuilding vision that fortunately— or unfortunately, always been influenced by performance/installation art. It’s all hilariously pretentious, but so is the creative industry. I find him too good for these corporations.
