International modelling star Karolina Kurkova received a birthday surprise on Wednesday, when a weatherman from a US TV channel presented her with an elaborately iced cake.

The beautiful blonde, who was in New York to promote the latest lingerie offering from Victoria's Secret, showed her appreciation for the gesture by sampling the chocolate decoration on the pink-iced treat.

It wasn't all celebrations, however, for the hard-working Czech-born model, who turned 23 on Wednesday. Indeed during the day it was work as usual as she joined fellow Victoria's Secret representatives in showing off the lingerie label's new Secret Embrace range.

Karolina, who has modelled for the brand since 2001 and is renowned for the enthusiasm and energy she puts into her work, donned a figure-hugging silver mini skirt and dazzling orange top for the launch.

Having graced the catwalks for Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors among others over the years Karolina is about to make her debut as an actress. The fledgling thesp has just completed a romantic comedy entitled My Sexiest Year, in which she shares the screen with Harvey Keitel and fellow runway star Amber Valletta."
