She was looking great with Letterman, very modern and yet ladylike.
She is really funny indeed in that clip. Only a cool girl like her can tell a history like that, where she makes a fool of herself, and come out triumphant.

Talk shows are a difficult test for actresses. Many of them are lame, they appear to fear the host, and they come out stiff, bland, starstruck or simply dumb.

Kate was obviously comfortable with Dave.
