"Suri" means "died" in Estonian. As in "to die" in the past tense. Not something I'd want to name my kid.

Someone said it sounded Finnish - isn't deaht "surma" or a similar word in Finnsh too?

At least they gave the poor child a nice name...I was afraid it's going to be something a s wackoe as the recent behaviour of the couple. Suri is nice.

I find the name Suri very ugly. I mean, yes it has a nice meaning (with the exception of died and pick pocketer). I find it odd how exotic the babies name is when the parents are Tom and Katie (and here is he is trying to get her to legally change her name to Kat).

Actualy Suri doesnt mean anything in Finnish, but there is similar word ''Surina'' which means something like buzzing. Surma is kinda old Finnish..
