Keeping Up with Lindsay (please put all Lohan news here)

Thats great news if its true, but i can't help thinking he might be being sarcastic.

He is that way too- why would he reference her work from, what 10 years ago!! I think it's a put on...Anyway, I don't see anyone going to the money guys and asking them to back a $20 Million project behind Lindsay, with her erratic behavior...It's a business before anything, and even solid, proven projects are having trouble getting financing these days... :(

Well I was imagining it more like Lindsay running up to Diane, before Diane's publicist could intervene.

The Mean Girls reference does seem sarcastic but then again what other films can he reference? Herby? I Know You Killed Me?

What she needs is something like The Wrestler.

Excerpts from an interview with Mickey Rourke, talking about his character:

he’s never been consistent in his life. I can relate to that myself. There’s a lot of stuff I could relate to.” It’s well-known Rourke can be difficult on set. Aronofsky still pushed for him in the lead. “I knew why Darrin wanted me to do the movie and why he fought really ****in’ hard for me. I think there was a big part of me that didn’t want to do it. [Randy] is living in a state of disgrace and shame. He was somebody at one time, now he’s nobody. He can’t even fill up his car half the time. I’ve been there and it’s no walk in the park.” In the film Randy’s money troubles force him to get a part-time job in a Jersey supermarket. Not a big stretch from a screen idol descending into straight-to-dvd hell.

“It’s pretty shameful for a guy like Randy to be behind the counter, slicing salami for some blue-haired lady. He’s waiting to go to Madison Square Garden again, not working behind a counter with a hair net on. I don’t think Randy found that much fun, y’know?”

“He didn’t have to tell me ‘you have to listen to everything I say. You can never disrespect me in front of the crew.’ I wasn’t going to. But from things I’ve done in the past and how I’ve behaved I can’t blame him for repeating that to me, and I didn’t mind it. He said how hard it was going to be to make the movie with me and how I ****ed a career up for fifteen years and he couldn’t raise the money. I have been working to change for over a decade and I still can’t get back in the game. I was thinking ‘this guy’s fishing in deep water here and he’s got his balls over the fence, fighting for me.’ So I decided right then and there that if this thing happened I was going to give him all of me.”

Not going to hurt anyone if I post positive news once in awhile :p
He probably said that right about the time the movie was released, as Boomer said, a DECADE AGO.

Anyway this is the icing on the cake and I LOVE it. OK, I love Lohan, but it's more a Trainwreck Love for me...the more fu*cked up she looks, acts, I love her even more!
So it’s not only significant what Candy is saying here -that Lindsay Lohan is an unreliable, irresponsible, unprofessional f-ck up – but also that she is able to say it at all.

Lindsay Lohan used to have the kind of clout that would protect her from exposure. The fact that she’s being openly called out, without consequence, is yet another example of how far down she has come.

It emerged this week that Lindsay has been turned down for a film role playing a teenager because the producers have branded the star 'too jaded' for the part.

She had been lined up to play the lead in the adaptation of acclaimed novel Undiscovered Gyrl, which tells the story of a teen blogging about her sexual coming-of-age.

But the book's author Allison Burnett has now revealed she's passed up the actress because of Lindsay's troubled image.

Talking to the US edition of OK! magazine, Allison said: '(Lohan) is a wonderful actress, but her fame and baggage would only work against her.'
Lindsay has been struggling to land a big box office role since Herbie: Fully Loaded in 2005.

Her last starring vehicle Labor Pains ended up going straight to DVD after being premiered earlier this month on an obscure cable TV station.

Even if her image is all good and what not, I don't want to see her in those kind of typical teenage movie, "Oh I'm so insecure, oh I want to write private stuff in my blog so that people will read". I'll pass.

But she was in Texas starting a movie last week!!! What the Heck is that all about !!?
If you have a problem with it, call the production company and they'll tell you why ;)

^ Well, my biggest problem is that it seems that she can do the most outrageous and awful things and people refuse to address it!! She is so obviously troubled and ruining her career, if not her entire life, and people talk about how great her collection of purses is!! What a shame- she could have been one of the greats- she had young Ann Margaret written all over her at one time: Beautiful, multi talented, Golden Globe, Emmy and Oscar nominee, top rated TV specials, sold out Vegas reviews, decades long career at the top... And instead of a career like that, Lindsay blew it all for a short, sad life of partying...

Yes I get what you mean, I'm not disagreeing with you but the fact that your judgments on her were based on what you see from tabloids, etc was just not right. I know you're scared for her but you don't know her personally, you don't know what she's been through, why she ****ed up too many times. There's always a reason behind it and we don't know. Because of that, we think she's stupid for "blew it all short".

I'm sorry, but I just had to point that out. I'm sick of people that take celebrities too personally with the whole media/tabloids frenzy. I'm not defending Lindsay because I'm her fan, but I'm defending the celebrities generally (well except the reality stars since they're enjoying it :p)

^Drew Barrymore has been through so much sh*t and look where she is now. The least I (and probably many other people) expect from Lindsay is that she uses Drew's past as an example to get her life back on track, but it doesn't seem like she's doing it, does it?

I know, but you can't expect the same result from a different person with different personalities with different personal life. Not everyone in rehab went out successfully. If so, rehab will run out of business ;)

^Well, your point just proved her critics right. Drew Barrymore had a tough childhood, deadbeat parents and was addicted to drugs and alcohol from a young age. She turned around and now she is respected as an actress and as a businesswoman. I don't know to which extent hers and Lindsay's life coincide in some way, so I'm not going to pass judgment on Lohan's personal experience, but I can safely say that, to this day, this girl is blowing every chance given to her. She has the word "failure" written all over her. And being a failure, in her case, with all the money and prestige she once had, is just plain stupid.

^ Yes, and I think that recent very critical article from London is the turning point- she would never have been ripped like that a couple of years ago, she has lost her clout in the industry at this point...And that story about how much money she owes Chateau Marmont- I think it is clear she is really headed down if she doesn't get help... :(

tbh, i can see Lindsay getting back up again. Not because I think she's dazzling or talented or has IT. Because at the moment i really think she doesn't and isnt. However I do think that the industry and the press are actually quite forgiving towards her - there's a degree of sympathy when you've seen someone who was a media and film darling, with a rising career, then go and f*ck it up spectacularly.

If and when she sorts out her priorities, and really makes a good go of being professional then i actually do think she can make it back into the industry.

Like I said, not because I'm any great fan of hers - but i feel the creative industries especially, are quite happy to see an underdog story, especially rehab stories of f*ckups piecing it together. Who knows, she may have a Mickey Rourke moment (who could have seen that coming?)

^ True, but I don't see how she can do it without some real help (after all, she's had several treatment programs that have not done much of anything..) and I don't see it at all following Sam around the world to a string of nightclubs...

^ oh sure - that's why i said "if and when" because it's clearly not happening right now. (nodding in agreement) ^_^

I don't know much about Sam or the Sam/Lindsay relationship - or care to know the details of Lohan's current stalking of the Ronsons, but tbh, i saw Lindsay's downward spiral take a nose dive round the time Sam and her got together.

make of that what you will :innocent:

sorry i might be a bit behind on this, but she did get her lips done again? could soem one post a before n after pic. i cant tell :(
