The 28-year-old actress was the total opposite of a bridezilla...
When a just-wed
Keira Knightley was photographed skipping out of a registry office with new-husband James Righton in France last year, there was something very familiar about the picture. The dress.
Yes, as we all well know by now, Keira was wearing a dress we'd seen her in many times before. And the fact that the 28-year-old actress had chosen to recycle an old frock, albeit a Chanel one, rather than buy a new one for her nuptials surprised many, to say the least.
Speaking to
The Telegraph, Keira said the reason for her wearing a dress she'd worn numerous times before was simple: it was her something old.
'Karl [Lagerfeld] very kindly designed me a jacket to go with it. I'd worn the dress lots. It was my something old,' Keira said.
'And I liked not making a big deal about it. I just wanted to be in something I had had a great time in, something I would have a great time in again,' she continued.
While we've enjoyed seeing Keira wear the beautiful ballerina-esque dress – she wore it again at the end of last year to a charity event – we may not get to again.
'It's now got red wine spilled down the front,' Keira admitted to The Telegraph.
'I didn't quite realise the extent of it until I got home. It's quite impressively splattered. But, hey, a good night is a good night and when a dress has had its time, maybe it's had its time. I'm pretty sure I can get it out but, if I can't, I'm happy with the memory of a good night and the story of how the dress got destroyed.'
Keira, this is why we love you…
