Keira Knightley

My great dilemma tmw. Do I buy the borderline fascist Daily Mail in order to get a free Dr Zhivago DVD? Dr Zhivago was a seminal moment for me. I adored that series. But then I suppose I could buy it for like a fiver... That paper really is unbelievably right wing. I don't even want to give them 20p.

I love that hat on Keira, but there's very little she's incapable of pulling off. Case in point, her last couple of candid outfits, which would look ridiculous on almost anyone else (I know some might argue on this next part), but look fantastic on Keira. I get the impression that clothes are just clothes to her, so she can play with them without being afraid of looking "unfashionable." It's interesting.

Sienna, I'd say it's not worth the free DVD if you're not remotely interested in the paper, granted you can find a copy of Dr. Z elsewhere.

Also, I found this picture on imdb.com - it claims to be from the 78th Academy Awards. The top of the dress is different than the burgandy Vera Wang she wore to the event, unless I'm going insane. Is it from an afterparty? Does anyone have a picture of this dress?

It wasn't this dress was it?

If so she changed her Oscar dress into this one for the Vanity Fair After Party, she said that she couldn't really move properly in her Vera Wang dress so she wanted something a little more comfortable! I'm pretty sure the dress is Missoni but don't quote me on that! :D

I love that recent outfit! I'd so wear that and I love that hat! She pulls it off well.

Fruit and Alcohol, eh? So I'm not the only random shopper.

That Silk movie looks pretty good. Does anyone know when it's coming out?

October, I think.

It does look really wonderful. With Atonement and this, she should have a pretty good year.

Wonder if we'll get more Oscar nods? I love her outfits to red carpet events. That would be so fun to watch again.

I think I read somewhere that Atonement has a good chance of getting some award nominations (it could've been Silk though!). Atonement is also looking highly likely to have it's world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May so here's hoping we'll get a lovely outfit from Keira at that!

Fliss, that's it! Thank you, I'd never seen that dress before. I don't fancy it as much as the Vera Wang, but the first dress did look very much like a stand-and-look-pretty-only kind of dress. I'm glad Keira didn't nix the necklace when, though: it's gorgeous!

I just saw Keira in Pride&Prejudice a few days ago and she was just lovely in it!
I'm eagerly looking forward to the Silk movie, are there any news when it is coming out?

I love Pride & Prejudice too. About Silk, it's still production so it may come out somewhere end of year..

Silk is the film adaptation of Italian author Alessandro Baricco's novel of the same name. It will be released in 2007 through New Line Cinema, directed by the Red Violin director, Francois Girard. The American actor Michael Pitt will star in the lead role of the French silkworm smuggler Hervé Joncour and the British actress Keira Knightley will appear as the Hélène, wife of Hervé. Japanese actors Miki Nakatani and Koji Yakusho have also been cast. Exterior Japanese scenes will be filmed in the city of Sakata from the end of March. Keira's scenes will be filmed in Italy in April, exactly in Sermoneta, a small medieval village near Latina.
The film will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007.

She is starring in Atonement?! ahhhh but I despised that novel! At least Keira will make up for that.

Thanks for that information. I like the costumes in the movie so much, the dresses are long but not so fluffy, I just love these kind of dresses. For some things I wished I had lived in that time.... ;)
