^ No, apparently she told the British press (I assume during the BAFTAs) that she wasn't going to the Oscars but that she wished Atonement the best of luck or something along those lines.

I'm torn about how I feel about it because while I understand that she isn't nominated and that Atonement has a slim chance of winning, it seems she ought to go. But she also hates the press and hates red carpets so as much. As much as I want to see her rock another amazing dress that gets us all talking (good or bad) I guess I understand. Here is where she says she'll just be watching it on the telly with all of us.

I don't think she was invited to the oscars. Or atleast that's what some people are saying.

Where are they saying that? I'm just curious! I am sure she was invited. She was the lead actress of a film that garnered seven nominations. Either way, I'm not surprised she didn't show. She has shown such a distaste for things like that unless she specifically is nominated. And she refuses, or so she said, to give out an award cause it makes her too nervous. Makes her lack of an appearance at the Oscars not so surprising.

Just saw this on the Daily Mail website, in an article about people who work for celebrities. This is by a plumber who has worked for her...

'Cor, she looks just like Keira Knightley!" I thought to myself as the woman who'd called herself Mrs Stewart when she called me out opened the front door.


A few hours later, I told her I thought she looked just like the famous actress and she told me: "Yes, I am Keira Knightley."
During the week I worked at her house, I saw Keira in her floral nightie and without any make-up, but she was still very pretty.
I also saw her eat plenty of things like soup and sandwiches.
In fact, Keira was an absolute darling and told me she hates the celebrity lifestyle.
And who can blame her? I had to walk past the paparazzi on her doorstep every day.
"They are always camped outside and all I want to do is live like an ordinary person," she told me, a little sadly. Her flat wasn't spectacular.
She shares it with her boyfriend, her brother and his girlfriend. There was nothing extravagant in there that would make you think it was owned by a famous person.'
