I think you've misunderstood that comment.
She's saying that Keira never looks in the mirror while she's doing a photoshoot. Meaning that she's happy to let the other people there decide what she's going to look like and doesn't worry about it herself.

It's spelled out in a little more detail if you read the full interview from the latest Vogue UK. This is the relevant bit:

"She's one of the least vain actresses I have ever worked with," says Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers. "Often, on a shoot, you can't tear the subject away from the mirror - or the monitor. They check every frame. They worry about every shot. But Keira has a lack of need to control..."

I know this sounds mean but whenever I read articles about her like last one in Vogue I always get the feeling that she puts on an act to seem oh-so-normal. Cooking, munching chips and drinking red wine in full Vogue make-up and high-heeled boots in some strangers kitchen? Doesn't that just sound weird to anyone else?

As this is how it was arranged by the author of the article I think you should blame her if you feel it's weird.
Or do you think Keira should have refused to go to the interview straight from the shoot in order not to have people she's weird for going along with other people's ideas?

I think she always is more or like that off-beat in interviews, a while ago I dug up some old magazine from 2005 or 2006 (?) and there was an interview with Keira in some fastfood place with her complaining about zits on her forehead, the writer notices her odd food and clothing choices and whatelse not. Maybe is not so, I don't really pay close attention.

Many celebrities are interviewed at eateries or restaurants though. She used to get flack for being too thin, so maybe the pointed commentary that she eats at interviews is the media's way of taking a subtle jab at her. IE: we don't believe metabolism alone is the reason you are so skinny.

I rewatched Atonement the other day. That floral blouse and patterned skirt still remain one of my favorite fashion film outfits.
