Kim Noorda

I'm like almost crying right now. What a surprise. And such a good one. I knew Kim had troubles and she has obviously kicked it (as far as you can kick an ED). But damn, I thought they were going for Lara or Doutzen (Shape Issue right?) but they went for Kim and let her tell her story. All I can say; Kim congrats because this is a major step. Not only breaking a silence in the fashion world but aswell as scoring something so major.

I'm not sure to understand. First i thought it would be an editorial in Vogue US, wich is fantastic news (Bruce Weber!), but after reading the Weight Thread people seem to think it will be an article about Kim / where she is interviewed. A bit surprising (in a good way) considering the fact that we don't often get to see interviews with her. Is it for sure that Kim speaks out in this Vogue issue or are we expecting too much of it?
In both case it's great news... ^_^

Since she is shot by Bruce Weber, I'm sure there will be pictures included. What would be the point of an article on something so sensitive as an ED if nobody could see her?

Let's just hold on and see, I am really shocked (in a good way of course) that Anna would publish something like that.It may not be that detailed, could be a little vague and brushed over.
That profile shot is simply incredible.

^^ What I was asking is are you people sure that the article will focus on Kim? She may "just" be the model of the photoshoot without being mentionned in the article or something like that.
But Tullepen is right, let's just hold on and see :)

Yeah it may not focus on Kim that much as she isn't one of Anna's jumping girls, but you never know.I am getting this issue FO SHO!

I think the article is about her as it does say on the cover of US Vogue

'BEATING IT, a model fights her eating issues'

More and Less (article about eat disorder)
Model: Kim Noorda
Ph.: Bruce Weber

My guess it's an article with a few pictures. (Same kind of article they used with Lara's ed; Hey Gorgeous!)

very excited about this ^_^
can't wait to see her pix by bruce weber

I d love to discuss with you about that ed, but i'm so poor in english....
So, i just happy Kim will be in Vogue US - (despite i hate it))))
can't wait to see....

Wow! I'm really hyped about this. I honestly hope the interview/article is about Kim. I desperately want to learn more about her... even if it is about how she fought an eating disorder. I think a lot of young girls (and boys) need to see a subject like this addressed in a magazine like Vogue.

I'm so happy I got this mag today:) was at this small bookshop and they happen to import it in faster than Borders.

Anyways, I am really saddened by Kim Noorda's article. It's like a personal recount of her struggles with weight. Throughout her journal, from Jan 2009 until Jan 2010, she's gaining weight bit by bit.

Quotes from the article:

"She told me 5 pounds is not that much, and probably no one would see it. I told her that people in the fashion industry see every gram of fat..."

"Every season I gained a little weight, and every time it felt like I was doing fewer shows."

"The board showed that she had only booked skinny girls. i didn't know if the pair of trousers was really too small or if I have become so much heavier than the rest. What I do know is that I could not get them zipped up with all my strength."

"At Alberta Ferretti I can't help noticing or imagining that they think I'm too big. Not what they wanted. I just try my best. At Lanvin I get canceled on the second day; they want a blonder girl. Next is Givenchy, with two models who are a lot skinnier. I try, but the shoot does not seem to work."

from the US Vogue thread

It's really hard to read this, how difficult it must have been for her.

Thinking of how slim and skinny she actually had been over the past years, it leaves me shocked to read this :o:cry:

So the article is about Kim indeed.
Thoses quotes are painful to read.
Much respect for Kim for fighting this and speaking out about it. Really looking forward the whole piece.

This breaks my heart. To realize this is what goes on in her head and this is what she does with all of her success is heartbreaking. I wish she could enjoy it more and not think every little bit is related to something as unimportant as weight. She has to be very strong to keep doing this work. Kudos for her to speak out so openly and honestly in public. I'm glad Vogue US decided to run a serious feature on it, making it a cover story. I wish for Kim to feel better about herself. Modeling is so superficial, they wanted someone blonder.... sigh. Get a wig.

 Poor Kim. It must be so hard to get canceled while trying so hard.
I hope she occasionally reads this thread but she just has to know (and I'm sure all her friends and family tell her this) health comes first and she is not the one who has a problem. It are the people who are replacing her.

And even more hypocritical, for Kim speaking out could even launch her new (runway) jobs. What a pathetic, sad and f.cked-up world :yuk:
I hope she has (or will do once) told the truth to those people because they are sad human-beings that should be locked away far from society.

I really thank Kim for speaking out. Because that takes so much courage.
