for some reason, it's seeming that the most chic way to wear them is to have the hemline/top of the socks cross paths, so when moving, you flash that slice of skin.
I walked into H&M today with the thought that they might have such overknee socks (because they're pretty much copying everything from the runways ) and they did! I bought a pair of grey ones and they are nice, but unfortunately a bit too short so you can't wear it the way they were at Prada... You have to extend them to their full lenght if you want them to be really overknee...
If anyone thinks about buying them, they are available in black, navy and grey

Moving on...I'm glad that knee-high socks are still appearing on the S/S 07 runways, I went crazy and bought several pairs and now I'll have to wear them all out to get my money's worth!
For some strange reasons, I am in love with over the knee knitted/ bulky looking ones for f/w..... still not liking sheer ones. But it seems not practical that your knees are still exposed to the cold, and the rest are covered, not good for your health.
speedgracer, I think it's difficult to wear them without looking like an AA girl, so whenever I wear them I totally go in for that style, and wear AA head to toe or something very similar to AA I must have over 7 pairs different overknees socks! It's kind of representing me, since I have been wearing it for a loong time now!
Knee high socks look cute but seems somewhat lolita/skanky-ish to me. But that's only because sl*tty nurse/pirate/cop/etc. Halloween costumes usually incorporate them.
i think knee high (as in just below the knee) is too school uniform, whereas thigh high is a length normally associated with tramps. over the knee (just covering the knee) seems to be the most contemporary length, but it would need careful coordination.
I saw a pair of grey ones at forever 21 today that I might get for only $5. something. They are over the knee but Im only 5 foot so Im thinking on me they would be pretty much thigh high so I could slouch them a little like the Prada ones.
That sounds nice Tiffany17 I just got myself some black knee high socks from H&M but when I got home and tried them on they where not at my knee so I had to stretch them.. .. but my boyfriend liked them so I dont need to buy new ones.. ...
Knee-high socks are always a plus in my opinion! I completely forgot about them until I saw the Prada ones, and it made me hate my short, stumpy legs all over again
