I think I'm going to spoil myself and get those Prada stockings...just reserved a pair at Harrods (I know...it sounds so ridiculous to 'reserve' a pair of stockings - but apparently, they're selling like hotcakes!). Gosh...I am such a victim - but they're just so cool!
ah brilliant. I definately think they'll work for winter and possibly even layer them over other tights for winter? Hmmmm....thats for the info and prices susie. You have me tempted to phone them up or HN. I just wish I could see them in person first....to see if they are like a 100 denier tight or more like a very slim sock like fabric.
^I've seen them in person and they are quite thick - but sheer-ish at the same time....very odd! That's what made me wanna buy them coz I don't think I would be able to achieve the same effect with cut-up tights. Oh dear....I'm slowly losing my cheapskate approach to dressing...... ah...how working life has changed me.....
^ Well one must mix and match. Nothing wrong with that. Esp. if there is no alternative out there. I think they are great because they also really suit your style (or what I've seen of it). I'm unsure how I could wear them with open toed shoes though.....how do they stay up? Were they in stock at harrods then?
Yes...the ONLY place that DID have them when I was ringing around. I usually don't go to stuffy old Harrods for clothes but it was a last resort.
Both Prada stores have sold out but are getting more in next week.
I'm a little unsure about the fit because you can't try on hoisery. They recommended a size 2 for me because I have size 38 feet. I forgot to ask them about the fit on the legs but I will know more when I go there tomorrow! I don't want them uber uber slouchy but I def. don't want them skin tight either.
yes definate no-no on the skin tight. But I would want them to stay up as well...Did you call the store at the Royal Exchange then? If they get some next week maybe i can check them out in person....I don't like harrods generally because it's either tourists or old men.....
Hmmm...I don't think I did! Must phone them up when I get a moment! Hehe...who knew a pair of stockings would be so popular!
Harrods is more convenient for me coz it's 10 min. on the tube. I'm just hoping that the fit is naturally loose and that they didn't make the models wear stockings two sizes too big as a styling trick.
I must be completely out of the Prada loop coz I just phoned up Royal Exchange and a SA snidely told me that the only places that stocks Prada women's wear are Bond Street, Sloane Street and Harrods like I was an idiot or something...
ugh that is so horrible AND wrong. I know for a fact that they carry the accessories there including the runway shoes and hats, gloves, etc. etc. I would assume stockings could fall into that category. Ignore them!
^Are you getting the ribbed ones? Because I had to get the normal ones coz the ribbed ones haven't come in.
Ok, here they are then.
Didn't really wear the outfit but was trying different things with them. They are actually tight but also very very long so you get the ruched/bunched up effect.
When I studied the Prada catwalk pics, I realised that they weren't actually all that loose on the models either but just bunched up because of the length. The size of the socks corresponds to your feet size as opposed to the size of your calves/thighs.
oooh yay! pictures! they look great on you susie! Interesting note about the length creating the ruching. Just don't know how I'd wear them. But whee thanks for the update!
