Knee/Thigh High Socks

What do you guys think of these American Apparel "thigh high" socks? I'm thinking of buying them in solid black...

I loooooove this trend -i think they look adorable ^_^
there was a time when everyone wore knee high stripey socks and it just got a bit grim after a while, so i'm hoping this doesn't happen again. i like them in dark greys and plummy colours the best. unfortunately i can only seem to find them in whites and that just makes you look like a little schoolgirl

I'm growing to love this trend,as long as it's not too "Lolita"-style.

I loooooooooove this look. I just got a pair of sheer-ish stitch black ones, and I've been wearing them over colorful tights. It's fun!

^ i actually really like the american apparel socks, but NOT the striped ones...if they're solid, they're fine - they're just like normal socks. but i agree with kim - i think if they're striped, they're a bit much. i'm not even sure flyingama was using the striped ones as an example...they're just in the catalogue image.

i think i mentioned that i got the rebecca turbow ones, so i'm going to take a picture to post! :woot:

they were custom made for me, and they fit PERFECTLY, and i'm afraid they'll shrink in the wash

I absolutely *love* the knee-high socks trend! I especially liked the D&G on the first page of the thread.

Anyone in the UK know where I can get some similar? I have many pairs in coloured fishnet - look great with plain black ballet pumps and a little black skirt. I always like to keep the rest of the outfit quite subdued with them

.f....
LOVE those shots...:woot:
total cuteness...

custom made? impressive.

you know what, i love trends, how all of a sudden everybody goes crazy for a particualr object. for really no good reason. except of course that they are insanely cute and beautiful!

I love these stockings, but there's no way I could justify spending 97 dollars....

why not try:

the levante wool stockings are awesome, but I got talls (I'm 5'7", ~130lb) and they are like knee socks if I don't wear garters, so I'm thinking you will need to get a huge size or else buy thigh high types.... but you will probably want "stockings" instead of "thigh highs" or "hold ups" because the "thigh highs" on those two sites usually have a rubberized thing that clings to your thigh.

most of the "thigh high" socks on this site are actually socks though:

on stylediary it says they are silk stockings. I bet you could just buy any pair of silk stockings at least a size up from what you should wear and you could get the same effect by not wearing them with garters.

like these:

Hm... i dont know, they might fall down alot because they aren't meant to be worn that way

or these

The chick on that site has a blog somewhere where she has pictures of someone wearing all the different stuff she sells.

oh, they are gorgeous. and silk stockings do last longer than nylon ones.

I keep getting the Prada socks as 67 american dollars from 55 euro, as opposed to most people saying its around 90 american dollars. Am I doing something wrong?

55.00 EUR=66.1759 USD
