I very rarely buy designer.

The funny thing is, when I get complimented on what I'm wearing, it's usually something I've picked up really cheaply, or else vintage.

Having said that, I will pay for Seven jeans (they are $350 here!) because they fit me so well, Alannah Hill (Aussie label), and NZ labels like Glory & World, but mainly because they are unique & often use great fabric. I will also pay $$$$$$ for vintage if it's in perfect condition, and more so if it's a label, but I haven't come across many such treasures.

In general (unless it's vintage or really special) I tend to think about $$ per wear. As long as it's well made and a flattering cut, I don't care about a label.

Generally, overseas labels cost an absolute fortune here. And if not, they're usually the rejects that nobody o/seas wants anyway .

I agree, it is absurd, $359.99 at General Pants, the only place in Australia that stocks them. Paper, Denim Cloth are over $400!

The other option is US Ebay but it's a bit of a lucky dip.

The next time I visit the US, I'm stocking up!!
