Lacoste Vs Ralph Lauren Polos

the only thing i dont like about ralph lauren is how the back is longer than the front.

question- is is pronounced ralph loren, as in sophia loren, or just...lauren...like lauren bush.
i always pronounced it loren...

I've always pronounced it Lauren, as in Lauren Bacall. But, as a warning, my roots are from upstate NY, so I'm certainly not the pronunciation guru.

I think it's supposed to be Lauren, with an 'are' not an 'or'.

i prefer the polo RL ones because there are more colours, better quality and the pony logo isn't too big to say - look at me, I bought this from Ralph Lauren! I think Lacoste are more plain and the logo is a bit bigger

i've always LOVED ralph lauren polo's because i like the ponies and how they have a different color that contrasts to the shirt. also, you can never have too many! they fit really well and his "country club fit" is awesome!

I adore RL...I have a bunch of both, but I just like the fit and the classic style of RL. Lacoste polos have a tendency to be tight and fitted in the wrong places. When wearing a polo, I like for it to have a fairly relaxed fit. I adore the RL oxfords too, during the school year I wear oxfords to class all winter and polos all spring.

I am also a female golfer, and when I play, I prefer the RL skinny fit polos because they look more feminine. I don't like LaCoste. For some reason they remind me of old men at the golf course with LaCoste shirts that don't fit right. RL, from my observance is for younger people. I plan to order some customized ones as well.
Quick question, though... has anyone bought RL polos on eBay? I was wondering if they look authentic. I know there are fake LaCoste polos being sold, but I didn't know about RL.

Depends on which RL label we're talking about. I love RL Blue Label polos but hate RL Black Label polos. I like Lacoste, but they're less "forgiving" on my body

I prefer Lacoste due to the vintage look and it's like a vintage brand name since I was young have been hearing it.. And I feel that Lacoste is getting colorful, interesting and fun. Therefore will get a Lacoste than Polo now

If I have to chose I chose the Ralph lauren ones because LaCoste is in Belgium know as a brand for "hooligans,etc.." not that I take this serious but still ..

Lacoste is now a "hooligan / bad boy wearing joggings" brand in France , Belgium and Holland now.
However there are still two categories of people wearing Lacoste polos :
The rich ones / the poor ones trying hard .

I still prefer Lacoste to Ralph Lauren because I've always seen my father dressed in Lacoste and together, we have more than 30 of them.

I perfer Ralph lauren when i want to pop my collar, but lacoste becuase everyone knows its a 72 dollar polo. But as for material goes, I think RL is better quality in some ways. I like the way it fits more so then lacoste. But there 2 great polos. Croc, or pony, i love them both!

I've seen turkish LACOSTE replicas : the crocodile had his tail wrong : meaning not on top but under his body.
Don't really know how to explain it, hope you get it.

i thought the big pony polos were horrid when i saw them online. and then i saw a georgeous guy wearing it, and it looked great. tho in hindsight, i have a feeling the guy wearing it just wore it well. haha

I think the big pony polos are awesome. The one for breast cancer, when the polo is black and the pony is pinkkk...thats the best one!! I actuily own a fake lacoste shirt. I bought a few off of ebay once....DONT DO IT. Because all they send you is fake ones. They say some weird name on the tag, something like chemeste lacoste. And the Croc looks strange. Also, the material and the fit is WAY off.
