Gaga had her surgery procedure yesterday (2-20-13). She wrote this sometime afterwards:

Monsters, You really gave me a lot of strength today. Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you've shared with me about your lives. Meeting you backstage, reading your letters, watching you communicate with fans from around the globe to form a community that supports one another--You have completely blown my mind. As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles -- sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it's even possible. So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I'm grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not. You have changed my life. I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives. If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything.

She's in Chicago celebrating her birthday. She's been here the whole week & I still can't flipping meet her. I need to do something about that.

Lady Gaga celebrated turning the ripe old age of 27 by getting carted away in her new pimped out Louis Vuitton whip in Chicago on Thursday.

She wouldn't have got to where she has in the world of showbusiness with out a bit of determination.
And Lady Gaga, 27, showed she's certainly a strong person while in Chicago, Illinois on Friday night.
The singer enjoyed a night out with boyfriend Taylor Kinney despite being stuck in her Louis Vuitton wheelchair.
The Poker Face singer wore a bright red outfit and black coat as she was pushed along in her chair.
She and Taylor enjoyed some time together at Richard's Bar before heading to Polekatz Gentlemen's Club nearby.
And despite her designer wheelchair, Gaga proved she is down to earth by stopping at a McDonald's for some food on the way home.
