Fashionstuff, your contributions are really appreciated but can you please stop wrongly crediting Nowfashion photos as Vogue?
I just wish he'd have kept it simple! There are some really solid key looks here and there, especially the last two ones. These could've done with more expanding, but the collection as a whole is all over the place. Maybe get rid of all those sateen looks!
Regardless, eveybody's got their knives sharpened and nothing will save him.
Its not that bad. I actually like it.
At this point I feel sorry for Lapidus. When you design for luxury house like Lanvin you need money. This collection has potential. It could be amazing...
It is not from Nowfashion at all. You are wrong, lol.
I don't know how to upload from Nowfashion site.
Anyway, i posted in your thread yet that Mods can delete Lanvin thread i opened, i don't see any problem.
This looks so incredibly cheap. I hate the fabrics he used, it's clear he didn't know how to work with most of them. It's not bad in terms of concept, certainly lacking in creativity, but better than last season, but the excution is just a mess.
Before open it on nowfashion.com, I was like: "this is gonna be fun " But it wasn't.
With this collection I realized why he's called the "French Michael Kors". The classic offering that would have worked better in NY: well done sportwear, a safe palette, everyday clothes. There were a few nice looks here and there. Sometimes the styling helped tremendously. I feel sad about him because the collection is not that bad at all. Come on, I've seen some things that were truly atrocious (Hi Maria Grazia). But afterall, the critics are going to kill him. Poor guy. He just doesn't work at Lanvin. And at this point, I don't see anyone designing for the house.
Few looks are not bad but the rest is nothing, i remember Lanvin made by Alber Elbaz , i loved not all of him but many pieces were "to die for". Maybe, if he will stay and not fired, in few years we'll see a good collection, if Lanvin will survive. I don't know who will buy this rtw clothes.
Oh dear... What I suppose to say looking at this? Its so weird. Lanvin for me now is a big asking mark.
The clothes are better than the last season, that orange leather jacket on post #1 is very interesting, but why would someone go to a Lanvin boutique to get this kinda of clothes/bags? Especially now with all the bad publicity around the house.
Now that they have new investors they should have cancelled the show, shotted a look book and took a time to figure out what do next. This French MK vision have no future (at least in the hands of Oliver).
Not as bad as i expected it to be but still bad.
I see that they made an effort to make it feel more expensive.
The cut of the pants is immaculate and the leather is buttery so, good point. My favorite (and only) piece is the leather top with the zips worn with the orange leather pant. That top is exquisite.
There's something very cheap about the whole color palette/styling/choice of colors for certain fabrics.
This collection in all black and navy blue could have been good.
I bet this is his Farewell...I mean, i don't see him around that much longer.
Sad to the 'French Michael Kors' running joke still going because Pricciao posted on here that he never actually said that.
Really? I did not know. Where is it?
Here we go:
I'm surprised he even had the motivation to put out a collection because many others would've cave after such fierce criticism. Of course it was bad, but the fashion critics circled in on him like a pack of vultures. His determination is commendable!
There´s a tiny improvement here. First collection was "duty-free" style. This one is like "space duty-free"...a bit futuristic but not enough.
I like that black/grey/orange coat from look 3; but the horrible accessories should have been removed.
And I take that orange leather jacket as an "hommage" to Claude Montana (as he was one of Lanvin´s designers).
But as a whole, it still feels bland.
I thought they were canceling the show and going with a presentation? I guess the sale changed that.
It's actually nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I mean, it's not the Lanvin we're used to, but it's certainly better than last season.
I like the colour contrasts - it's warm and streamline. There could have been a bit more consistency but then again when we have garbage like Dior and Gucci putting out inconsistent recycled garbage, this is alright. I would rather wear this lacklustre Lanvin than Gucci or Dior these days.
It still has a long way to go before Lanvin bounces back to its status under Alber...but I doubt he'll last that long anyway.
