Now that I've seen the entire collection, yes, I'll reaffirm that yes, to me, he is the ONLY big name who has made wearable, gorgeous, stylish, non dated-looking clothes that are still special. The others are Dior, Chloe, and the other smaller names, LeRoy, etc. I'm astonished I find myself agreeing with style.com on this.:clap::clap:

For some reason, it also reminds me of Helmut Lang...which saddens me...

I looked at this whole collection and some of it is nice but I am neither crazy about the slim sillouette nor the length of the skirts & dresses. I think this is a little staid and safe I'm afraid. I do like the dresses with the flowers on them and also the little japanese kimono style dress. Maybe when you see the collection up close it will be more interesting. Again...at the risk of sounding like a broken record, its not very summery.

Borrowed a little from Roland Mouret ? attached image from style.com.

I'm not over the moon - the fasination factor is low - but the wearability factor high ..

yeah the folding of the tops is very Mouret but i love the color combinations. But where the hell did all these ties come from? The end of paris fashion week is inundated with ties!! either way, I love lanvin, love alber and it may not be as brilliant as seasons past but comparatively, it's gorgeous

few things stood out...i love that mustard colored dress that hanne compared up above, and what lisa cant is wearing in a post of perlefine's on page 2...has a very japanese inspired look to me...lovely.

but so far, this does nothing for me...i wanted to love it, but i only like it.

i was waiting and waiting with my reply here because i was still hoping i'd love it after all. but i have to echoe the sentiments of those who said that it was just nice and safe. nothing excites me....

There are two things that bother me in this collection:

1. Details. I didn't see much breathtaking details as I saw in this previous collections. That might change once I see the clothes IRL.
2. Colors. The collection is a little too gray to me. Where are the colors?

My sentiments exactly ... disappointing, nothing here I want to wear. Agree that the ties and sequins are simply awful. Here's an interesting one I don't think has been posted yet (style.com):

PS Shoes should not look like Cadillacs :p

i love this!

and if the shoes become commercially available, i'm jumping on them. such conversation pieces!

disappointed
i was expecting too much i think !
but i agree . . the shoes ! :woot:  !

i find this a very refreshing collection from Elbaz,
wasnt a big admirer of his last collection..
Helena is right, some lengths are totally wrong, some dresses are a disaster.. it's far from perfect but regardless that , this may well be one of the strongest, fresher 'mainstream' collections of the season.
(together with Nicolas at Balenciaga.. and maybe even Tisci )

here some faves
