When I think of that epic campaign Meisel did with Olga Sherer many years back, I can't help but feel this was somewhat of a missed opportunity. You had Paolo Roversi, a master of dark and moody portraits, and we get this? I like the first shot, but the rest could be a glorified lookbook.
The shot with the striped outfit is very good. It gives me a hint of Alber's Lanvin or 90's Chanel, which I think is a good thing considering Bouchra's first efforts haven't been that striking.
I wonder why they do different ads for men's and women's. I mean they did before but the men's campaigns didn't look THAT bad.
Collier Schorr's ads are horrible. Looks just like the last season, a bunch of random guys looking dead together. Would have been much better if Roversi did that one too.
This is not bad as a campaign. It's classic, chic with a heavy 90's feel...
The thing is that, Lanvin in the 90's was old and unappealing. And when you used a well known model who looks fresh in all of her campaign in such a way...It's kinda tragic.
Lanvin under Bouchra is already a flop. Her clothes are maybe too much like her: quiet.
For a house that need a new energy it is not good at all.
Weirdly enough, the menswear that is still growing and selling has a weak campaign.
