this girl is so talented... she is playing a show here in sydney in a few weeks but unfortunately the venue is really small and already sold out

she has been compared to a young joni mitchell.. one of her heroes.. the comparison is not so much a surprise, though, as it seems almost all young folk singer songwriters these days are called the new joni mitchell.. anyway i think her music is lovely and surprisingly mature for such a young girl... she is only 18 yrs old..
her voice reminds me a lot of someone but i cant quite put my finger on it..

I have to revive this thread to say at the moment I am absolutely obsessed with her music. Her lyrics are so beautiful; if I had to pick a favorite song, it would be Typical, followed very closely by My Manic and I and New Romantic.

lyrically i find this song breathtaking.... achingly beautiful... i am always blown away when someone takes something so personal that most of us can relate to so closely and somehow portrays it in a way you have never thought of.. i feel that way about these lyrics..

I could not agree more! Ghosts is my favorite song of hers.

She is truly a lyrical genius,her album (Alas I Cannont Swim) is solid from the first song to the last. I'm so happy to find she has a thread on here!
