Lemaire F/W 2024.25 Paris

hell yes, and yummy, but why does the casting get so Balenciaga at times? like ?? and...., what's up with that? spare me from statements on 'everyday people that aren't models' but somehow in the eyes of fashion-minded peeps, everyday people always look mysteriously inbred and post-apocalyptical, just.... send great clothes with chill, dime-a-dozen models and call it a day...

^ can't really see what should be wrong with these two dudes? they look fine.
Typical Lemaire Art Dealer style.

on a side note: When one critizies another indivdual then there's always «something» behind this - no?
not simply atoms flying around trough emtpy space. I feel more and more that all this negativity (especially here) does matter - not to harm or hurt other people, even it's just as a joke or amusing comment in one's own self-interest. and that's why i'am stopped to engage more frequently the last weeks. and: it's also getting boring to be honest.

because it's just seems normal nowadays not only to think all our bizarre thoughts privately, but to express them in public, and receive positive feedback and attention as a result. We all just lost this small limited respect, because everyone around us is also doing the litteraly insane thing the same way. on and on. What we all get from this in the end? tell me....

just had to to write this - and will go down my rabbit hole again - even i am well aware that i am also a part of this strange egocentric culture myself - for many years.

While I have loved Lemaire since their SS15 show, I'm really starting to become annoyed with their current aesthetic, especially with their menswear.
Their FW 2023 r way better than this one

Look 1 I'm immediately grabbed. That coat is to die for. I know the collection is not shocking and groundbreaking, or even really challenging, but you can definitely see where they stand among their "peers" so far this season (and many other seasons for that matter). There's an honesty and mindfulness in their vision to shape and refine the person who wears Lemaire that is firmly staked into the ground, compared to everyone else who is too worried about what's going on around them shuffling around trying to mirror the lame society they are constantly seeking validation (and profits) from. P.s. sorry mullet I think those two guys are cute 🙈

It is starting to get a little repetitive but I still love this because it is so effective and still incredibly genuine. Fabrics are so sumptuous and delicious with still a strong sense of lightness where even the all the layering doesn't feel too heavy. The brief doses of aubergine and blush are gorgeous, and I love the print/embroideries incorporated.

Only gripe is the runway/lighting itself. Washes out a lot of this but it does give a stronger focus on the looks. The more organic spatial runways they do can sometimes feel like a bit of a rush.

My biggest issue with the casting is less with their appearance (I personally think they look fine), but how uncomfortable they look. You can see the stage fright on their faces and the "nonchalant" choreography doesn't look natural or chill at all.

Hiring a mix of models, actors and dancers would've done the "street casting" effect much better.

I know this is his whole aesthetic, and I get that…and it’s all perfectly nice and much of it is attractive…but yeah…this whole look / lifestyle is getting kind of silly.

Mostly because this character and all those who imitate it are so predictable. Like…lemme guess…you love ceramics.

This... so true lol !!! I try to evoke something in my mind, something that brings an invisible connection to these things. It turned out to be ceramic, the Ceramic Geeks

The clothes are so layered and cozy that they had to introduce them in January ( the coldest month ) instead of early March, in womenswear week.

They staged the show in the Lemaire headquarters, which would've been fine if it wasn't for the raised runway taking up unnecessary amounts of space. The colouring (beige on beige on beige) on top of the warm coloured collection doesn't help either.

I feel like the same criticism as with Hedi Slimane remains - All these Lemaire collections blend into one another with only marginal distinguishment from another. While I appreciate the consistency, I would appreciate them at least trying to put themselves up to a challenge every season: Perhaps emphasize on a less layered look, perfect a specific product (their dressmaking and tailoring are still not among their strengths). This is really starting to feel like an autopilot from Lemaire, I would like to see a bit of an evolution at this point!

Great work on the coats and shirts, beautiful palette. Not too convinced by the cowboy/Western gimmicks though, they are much better when channeling their Southeast/East Asian inspirations. Sure, it is always a variation on the same theme with them, but what a theme! I appreciate the continuity, which allows the customers to build a consistent wardrobe season after season. Contrary to some of you guys, I find their menswear definitely superior to the women's collection.

The coats, jackets are beautiful. They feel cozy but not heavy. I usually hate layered looks, the models always end up looking like a bibelot of stuff, but here it's done right, it looks natural, lived in.

Well, I think the comments about the casting are just the result of everybody being sick and tired of balenciaga. We feel bad at even looking at something that resembles the brand. Lol
