Well, it’s only for preorder. The items will not arrive until December for some or even April for other. But I agree it’s nice to get a preview.

Men's label Les Hommes isn't as it seems. Its two founding designers are Belgian, not French, and their aesthetic is an intentionally jarring contrast of rough and refined elements, a duality by design. Both graduates of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Tom Notte—who once had a stint at Olivier Theyskens—has an eye for the hard-edged while Bart Vandebosch brings a tailor's touch. The result, like two interlocking pieces of a puzzle that shouldn't have fit, is exemplified in this heavily-detailed fitted jacket—which, along with trenches, are the label's forte. With an epaulet adorning the lapel and a plethora of admiral-style pockets and other trompe l'oeuil delights like false zippers, the military theme is bold, to say the least, yet a closer look reveals an adherence to classic design in the narrow sleeves and high armholes. Speaking of arms, the jacket will cost you a one, plus a leg, as it's price tag ranges from $1150 to $1300. We've said it before and we'll say it again: fashion hurts. At London at Selfridges, L.A. at Maxfield's and in New York exclusively at Atelier, 125 Crosby St., 212-941-8435.

Ok I need that jacket and that jeans...does A carry those items? Gah...I need oxygen

Im not liking this.
Thier winter collection was much better, this bores me.

I saw these at Atelier a couple of weeks ago - the first two looks, in black. Nice enough, but wasn't even moved to try them on. I love Les Homme, but ...I guess I'm with Raijin on this. A little tricksy for me. The jacket wears you more than you wear it. And Atelier got the jeans in black, but I think if they were in denim I'd like them more... ah well...

i have to agree that they could take away a few of the bells and whistles and possibly make the designs stronger by simplifying them...

it's still an aesthetic that i like though...:flower:

I'm not sure that I'd ever seen that jacket in black. I love it.

nice white jacket

super!

Les Hommes ss2005 is GREAT!!

Thanks nqth. Thoughtful pieces for men. Esp because of the style of the photographs, reminds me of a kind of SS05 Katarzyna Katarzyna Szczotarska for men

Softgrey, do you have any pictures of their FW line? I'd like to see those!

You are welcome, cerfas:-) I think there were posts with pics on Les Homme FW.

Thanks 7. :-) I like thay way they mix the zipper (sport!) with suit.

I was admiring the first pieces posted the other day on Luisa Via Roma. I like what I've seen very much. Not the most daring pieces in the world, but the look is very nice. I like this.

Thx to everyone who posted pics :flower:

way he uses zipper, something that can be pretty ugly, reminds me of yamamoto

I like how they're continuing with the concept they started a couple of years back, of having a leather piece within the jacket that looks like a separate garment when it's actually attached. I was so in love with that jacket but decided not to buy it because at the time, it was $1500. And knowing me, a piece like that will get worn only a few times in the season.

I may have to go to Atelier and try those things on now - there's something alluring about seeing items featured editorially, despite having already nixed it at the store level... I'm a shopaholic...I need help...
