British supermodel Lily Cole celebrates turning the grand old age of 20 today!

Lily, whose modelling career began after a chance encounter when she was 14, is now the face of M&S and has starred in several films, including St Trinian's.

But the model-turned-actress, who's now worth £6 million, hasn't let fame go to her head. This September the straight-A student will be taking up her place at Cambridge University, after deferring her place for two years to pursue her non-academic interests.
'I'm focusing on modelling this summer, then I start at Cambridge. I'm really excited. It will be a big change, but I can't wait,' says Lily.

Lily was walking through the streets of Soho after a hamburger with friends when scout-turned-actor Benjamin Hart approached her. Lily ran, fearing she was being chased by 'some dodgy guy'. But realising that Benjamin was connected to Storm Models, the mother agency of supermodels such as Kate Moss, Lily accepted and the rest - as they say - is history.

Lily Cole to leave behind acting to study at Cambrige

Supermodel Lily Cole is reportedly turning her back on her flourishing acting career to return to her education.
The model, who turns 20 today, earned straight As at A-level - in English, philosophy and politics - at Latymer Upper School in West London but deferred her place at Cambridge for two years to pursue her catwalk and acting career.
Lily has modeled for Vogue, Chanel, Christian Lacroix and Hermès as well as high street brands such as Topshop and Marks and Spencers as well as filming St Trinian’s last year and working with the late Heath Ledger on his final film this year.
She explained recently: “I’ve just wrapped filming with Terry Gilliam on The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus and I haven’t got any more films in the pipeline.
“I’m focusing on modelling this summer, then I start at Cambridge. I’m really excited. It will be a big change, but I can’t wait.”
Lily will study social and political science at the university’s King’s College.
