Clearly those of us at Modelinia—and all of our readers—cannot identify with the sentiment held by the British Times that Lily Donaldson isn’t a household name. Because in our household, she most certainly is.

But for those of you just learning about the adorable Lily, then welcome. She’s overwhelmingly modest, admitting she never saw herself as beautiful, with amazing fashion sense claiming her clothes are a result of frugality while we see fashion-forward, and still someone you could imagine hanging out with outside of the world of fashion.

Lily was born in London to her mother and a photographer father, attended Camden School for Girls, and was discovered at 16. “My first-ever show was so scary,” she said. “I was there an hour early, terrified. I had to ask the makeup person, ‘How do I walk? How do I walk?’ Suddenly it seemed so complicated.” But despite all of the runway success she’s had, Lily still was able to enjoy her childhood, studied art, philosophy, and history A-levels.

Here’s a fun fact: She has picnics in her car during Fashion Week, where she makes sandwiches with honey. We’d love to know just what that’s paired with…
