In today’s world of mindless youtubing and unimaginative viral “sensations”, it’s rare to come across a video that is truly a work of art, and Bang is just that.
Created by photographer Simon Cave and his writer/model girlfriend Lily Kwong – who features in the video – the project breaks new ground in the world of 3D technology. By painstakingly collecting data on every curvature of Lily’s face and body, Simon constructed a 3-dimensional model, to tell the story of a girl in the technological age.
Both visually and aurally stimulating – featuring an original score by Adam Crystal – the project took months to perfect and is the first 3D beauty story of its kind. “The technical aspects of the project totally consumed Simon – he was up most nights making Bang come to life” explains Kwong, “while I helped develop the concept and narrative”.
The link between fashion and 3D technology is increasingly apparent – Burberry screened the first 3D runway show last year while Gucci has launched a pair of 3D glasses – and Bang is at the forefront of this totally innovative artform.

Lily Kwong: It Girl
elitemanagementnyc.comLily Kwong. Outside of Manhattan, you may not recognize her by name, and that’s okay—for the moment. The laid-back and fresh-faced Kwong, who happens to be the cousin of CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award-winning fashion designer-of-the-moment Joseph Altuzarra, is just graduating from Columbia University with a degree in sociology and urban studies, after all. No surprise, in a matter of moments after coming onto the New York social scene, Vogue anointed the dark-haired beauty an It girl. Now she’s a front row fixture at fashion shows and frequently appears in party photos (recently for attending the Dom Pérignon party for artist Rita Ackermann and French composer Koudlam, the American Beauty book party, and Marchesa’s dinner at the Rose Bar).
