... is this possible? Can it be done? Is it userfriendly? Has anyone ever done it?

I hear there are more song selections as well as songs i'm dying to download to my iPod that iTunes doesn't have. But i'm abit concern mainly because ...

*I'm not sure how Limewire works. Nor am i familiar with it. Or if it comes with lots of spamming and virus after downloading songs from there.

I use LimeWire but please make sure you aren't downloading illegally! :flower:

You can get a lot of viruses and an abundance of pop-ups from downloading but that won't happen if you use it legally.

Limewire is great for that reason since not everything is on itunes (not to mention you don't have to pay anything). I've used limewire before and many others do as well, but like you mentioned viruses are a threat when you use a program like that because you are pretty much downloading files on a server that came off of someone else's computer. Programs like limewire, morpheus, ares, etc work by taking files from a shared folder on your computer and sharing them on a network. If you choose to download a song it will be downloading the file from the shared network off of someone else's computer. If someone wants a song that you happen to have in your folder, it will upload off of your computer. This is essentially why these programs have the possible threat of viruses. If you have a firewall and anti-virus program on your computer I wouldn't worry so much. :flower:

Also, if you are in the US, downloading from programs such as limewire is considered 'illegal' though it's nothing to worry about since the authorities won't "come after you" unless you have hard drives full of downloaded content. They have other problems to worry about. Luckily in Canada it's not illegal.
