she NEEDS TO STOP. i get it --- she wants to be a bleach-blonde pin-up bombshell. she wants to be Marilyn Monroe or whatever.

BUT THAT'S NOT HER. she's a california beach girl with red hair and a sparkly bubbly personality. that's Lindsay Lohan. at the very least; that's the Lindsay Lohan everyone fell in love with and so nobody will accept her again until she returns to this image. then people will be reminded of why they loved her and she'll have a shot at success. i'm a big fan of reinvention when it's sincere and motivated by a quest for a more in depth truth of your character. but this whole phase of Lindsay's life just feels inauthentic. it feels shallow and superficial.

as a culture we love to hold people on pedestals and we love to tear them down and then - if they have enough passion and fire and talent and resilience to come back and show us why we loved them in the first place - then that person holds a special place in our collective pop-culture hearts. it's happened with Drew Barrymore, with Tina Turner, Robert Downey Jr, the list goes on and on. but the key is that you have to tap into the roots of what made you so uniquely star-worthy in the first place.

someone like Whitney Houston is an example of a performer who was put on the highest pedestal that our culture provides. she was a genuine internationally beloved superstar DIVA. and so her fall from grace was most tragic and dramatic. perhaps she's turned her life around now - but until she comes back reminding everyone of why we fell SO deeply in love with her (ie: glamourous, elegant, that VOICE), she'll never end her story as the LEGENDARY icon that she should be.

sorry for the odd comparison as i know Lindsay isn't on that level. lol. but i just think she's gotta hit the qualities that we loved about her in order to have a proper and successful comeback.

I like the Elizabeth Taylor Cleopatra tee Lohan is sporting there. She must be aggressively campaigning for the biopic role.

happycanadian, I totally agree! She had a distinct look, the red hair and freckles and chubby cheeks, why can't she just accept the qualities she's been given? Doesn't she want to pursue the look that boosted her into the spotlight? I admit she looks pretty in those pics, she just looks SOO trashy it's ridiculous. And that hair is just disgusting, I mean if any of it is her actual hair anymore.

I completely agree with everything you just said. Lindsay has changed pretty much everything that made her "Lindsay Lohan" in the first place.

Maybe she will attend some fashion shows in NYC?

the picture with the stove looks almost the same as the Ellen von Unwerth shoot for Vogue Italia
