She returned to Beijing (presumably no Chanel HK). And it sounds like she’ll travel to Milan in the coming days.

It would be nice if the duo shot Liu Wen for Double Vision too. If we can’t get B&W portraits by Meisel then finding them elsewhere from Luigi & Iango is also a good alternative IMO. Wish they’d do something glamorous or foxy with her *missed opportunity Versace*.

Apparently, there’s no Vogue UK this year. Were all rumors and guessing haha.

Speaking of guessing: maybe her Milan trip is for Ferragamo; and New York is probably for Max Mara (if it’s Ethan James)?

She’s currently in Shanghai.

Not that it matters much or means anything to the mass, or even Liu Wen, but given that she is on Wallpaper’s anniversary issue (also on their inaugural cover), think her mgmt should’ve aimed for a Cosmo cover for February or sometime this year instead of Wallpaper that released earlier this year… even if they weren’t sure they would secure the November’s issue. Saying this because she has yet to front all Chinese top five women’s fashion magazines in a single year (Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire and Cosmo). If she’s not on Cosmo next month then it’ll be her seventh attempt/year missing one title. Only one national model had achieved that kind of record. There’s time but so many other factors could prevent her from ever completing this “holy five”. No pressure, just saying.

Burberry front and center. Would be interesting if that's in the bag for SS25… or not.

Think she’s back in Paris. Even more interesting.

Liu Wen hasn’t worked with Sadli in that many editorials thus would like to see more of them especially now. Still recall Vogue China 2012. Wouldn’t protest Sadli for Chanel RTW campaign with her (preferably B&W classics).

^ Wow they timely dropped W for the show. Think it could’ve been shot in October(?)… looks rushed. But that closeup earring shot is everything. More beauty campaigns, Chanel.

Luckily we know she’s in Hangzhou. So far, everything is going in her favor…

Completely forget that the Fashion Awards already occurred.

The sun has risen. I sincerely hope they consider Wen the honor of opening the show. Her association with the brand is unquantifiable at this point. Seriously. Too many to list here but the many corresponding pictures in her thread substantiate her ongoing relation with the house.

Can’t predict the future but she probably won’t ever have an opportunity to open/close a Chanel show, when in fact, the brand she has walked/worked the most is CHANEL. Time to give her due appropriately in her home country.

What’s going for her:

Another Chanel advertorial on a glossy: W Magazine

She’s featured in the Chanel Magazine 31 Rue Cambon for Hangzhou Pre-Fall

Building hype (and a thread connection to the show and Liu Wen) by last year’s visit to le19M

Nowhere to be seen prior to the show in promotional images (unlike Swinton and local celebs), suggest she’s walking

Some Chanel models aren’t present, and they sometimes let national models O/C

Finally, congrats on the opening. Karl was right about Liu Wen – she’ll be a great star – but nothing big came out from his era. Nevertheless, hoping a campaign is in the foreseeable future: may the maison’s business strategy is in her favor, *if true Blazy is already accustomed to Liu, that’s a plus*, her Elite family are on the phone vouching for her, and perhaps she’s got to be a bit assertive if she wants an ad (even though she’s just grateful and modest, and that’s not her approach). Her fans – mainly outside of tFS – will go ballistic when she crosses the finish line with her first Chanel apparel campaign. It is a big deal. Good luck!

Her runway images don’t do her look any justice, it’s quite gorgeous in detail… the makeup is questionable. Contrary, waiting for her to be elegant personified, something clean and bright, minimalist yet chic and classic. She didn’t walk but would be so pretty to see her in SS HC 2017. Thought she looked great at FW HC 2023 with a top bun, seems boring but felt right for her age (not a negative) it highlighted her face well, and just looked more comfortable and womanly. Just a couple examples. Maybe a bit whimsical or lightness quality to her campaign images if she were to star in one. She’s more effective on the simpler side of things when it comes to Chanel, IMO.

Apparently her W China was indeed shot LAST WEEK! It was the Paris trip. Was a local photog/set not available? Nothing wrong just want to understand this. Some better shots that didn’t make to the final cut or for the cover IMO. And the purple look not in color…
