If so, would very much like to see her at Gucci. That is if they still want to invest in Liu Wen and have her promote Demna’s era as she has done with Alessandro and Sabato.
I’m very curious (and concerned?) whether PG continues to cast Gucci or if Demna will officially bring Echt back now that there’s runway. Personally don’t mind either, but one would think history and familiarity would carry over. The collaboration and chemistry. Great examples such as Ghesquiere+Bokaw, Tisci+Pilotti, Burton+Hallett, Anderson+Brokaw, Jacobs+Bitton, etc. This would be Gvasalia+Echt.
Demna’s “unconventional” models choice was distinct and integral to his vision/community/brand’s identity, albeit that was within the Balenciaga sphere, it’s just hard to not see his muses and regulars even at Gucci. It’s something special when we see models follow designers (especially if they helped catapult their career). Hope there's still loyalty here. So far we haven’t seen his usual stars at Gucci yet.
It was a cool, exciting time that Balenciaga had been supportive and consistently casting LW ever since her big comeback. She has become a staple in its cast and solidified with a campaign. Would love to see Demna & co. and the company keep/bring her in for Gucci too.
Interestingly, is Gucci doing an “open” casting for FW26… going in what direction. Would PG still be involved. And has Demna moved on from his Balenciaga models and is now bringing in new faces for Gucci. I mean they already have, but I wonder if it'd be different for his first, proper fashion show.
