(PARIS) For her 24th birthday celebration last week, Liya Kebede blew out her candles at Alex de Betak’s hautespot Black Calvados, the brand-new bôite that served as fashion’s after-hours clubhouse this season. “I love Liya,” de Betak gushed. “She’s my good luck girl.” As guests, including Audrey Marnay, Diana Dondoe, Angela Lindvall, Charlotte Stockdale, and Kithe Brewster, converged upstairs in the intimate eatery, Kebede—clad in towering Balenciaga wedge boots and a black-and-white horizontally striped dress that only a supermodel could get away with—ran around taking photos with a customized white Polaroid camera. The model’s husband, Kassy, was at home in New York with the children. “They may not be here, but they’re always in my heart,” she said.

Following cocktails, hugs, and kisses, it was time to get down to some serious dancing and celebrating. Making their way downstairs, guests were greeted by a smaller-than-small lounge area surrounded by wall-to-wall mirrors, flashing bars of lights, and neon cubes that doubled as tables. “My hometown is so boring compared to this!” said Calgary-native Lisa Cant. As partygoers danced and dined into the late night, Caroline Winberg found herself itching to spin some tunes.

“I want the deejay to play Oh-Bla-Di, Oh-Bla-Da, Life goes onnnn!” she exclaimed. “But he doesn’t have it!”
